Holy Moly

I cannot believe I have not been here since the first of April. Doesn't time fly when we are having so much fun??

So what is everyone up to now days? Are you still in isolation? Social distancing when out and about? Wearing a mask? Times are crazier than anything I ever thought I would see in my lifetime.

I am pretty much still staying at home all the time. I have stopped having groceries delivered and I venture out to pick them up with Clicklist at my local Kroger's. (It is called Dillons in my neck of the woods). I still prefer this over in-store shopping and probably always will. For the most part I am getting most of what I order. There are still many things unavailable. It remains a mystery to me why this is so, but it is. What I have noted is that my grocery bill has increased. And I don't think it has a thing to do with me eating more. Have you noticed that too?

I did have to venture out for a funeral last month. My ex-sister-in-law died of heart problems. She was my hero and the reason I became a nurse. I always loved her even when I could no longer stand her husband's brother. LOL! The funeral was interesting. It was big. About half the people there wore masks. They passed a microphone around for people to say what their favorite memory of Ruthie was. Interesting in a global pandemic, to say the least. I didn't participate. They had a type of social distancing. Every other pew was left open. But people sat side by side on the pews. Mostly in family groups however. Was a beautiful service and a fitting tribute to a wonderful woman.

I also went with Harley to order her wedding cake. I know I told you the wedding was off. Well, it's back on. (for now). Yes, she moved into her own apartment the first part of April. Wedding was off. They were broken up. Then they were dating again. Then wedding back on for September 2021. And now it is for September 26, 2020.(and no, she says she is not pregnant. I just shrug! She is really on the run to get a weeding planned in a short time.(One of the reasons for the break-up is he was stressed out with wedding plans) See me shaking my head again. Live and learn for everyone. Right?? Anyway, the cake is ordered and I have a dress coming. That is about my part in participating. Her future mother-in-law is crafty and helping her with a lot of it. Stay tuned.....

I wake up every morning to see if Trump is still the president and how he has embarrassed America today. He has so badly mishandled this Covid-19 crisis we are in. And now he is just pretending it has gone away. I cannot believe (yes, I can) how he allowed Putin to get by with paying bounties on our American soldiers. And the race war he is trying to start....and the Roger Stone BS. Surely all of America's good people will see the need to replace him in November.

Little Charlie is still by my side. He is the sweetest thing ever and provides me with a lot of love. I did finally get him in for a grooming after going without for three months. He really, really needed a haircut. We spend a good amount of time lying around.

 Hope you are all well!

  2. How great to hear from you again. You are a such a good writer and reading about your everyday life is a pleasure. Poor Harley, it reminds me that it wasn't easy to be young. So much to learn so much pain while learning. I wish her all the best. I'm sorry for your loss. And I so agree about Trump.

  3. Hello, and nice to see you. I guess we're all pretty much stay at home, or else young and irresponsible and out looking for trouble.

  4. Thanks Paula for commenting on my latest blog post about corgi decorating. Winslow sure is a handful :)

Wow, a wedding once again!! I wish them the best. Hubby and me were just talking about weddings the other day and wondering if in the official pictures masks would be required of the bridal party.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your ex sister in law. Sounded like a wonderful lady.

We are living life as normally as we can in these days. Not isolating from family any more and wearing masks only because it is mandated.

The election is roughly 110 days away (give or take a few days). We will see what will happen. Either way it goes I am content in the fact that despite it all God is still in control and God is still on the throne no matter who is in the White House. His will will prevail above it all and his will be done as well as his kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. That's good enough for me. Win win situation. If I pass, I'm going home to Jesus. What can be better than that?? NOTHING!!!!!!

So sorry I ended things as I ended things. It was not my best move and God reminded me of it. I should have been quiet and moved on and I chose not to be. Lesson learned though I still stand behind my thoughts about all this covid 19 charade.

Hope it is a fabulous wedding for Harley and her betrothed and they can live happily ever after!

  5. Oh, how wonderful to hear from you again. Wedding plans can put tremendous pressure on a couple. Maybe moving it forward will be best. Only time will tell. Glad you are staying healthy in these strange days of pandemic.

  6. So nice to hear from you and see that you are okay. I finally went into my local Kroger's yesterday after using clicklist since March. Amazed at seeing empty shelves. Then I get in line and the woman in front of me has a small cart full of pasta sauce. Explains a lot.
As for the idiot in chief, I watched an episode on Very Scary People about Jim Jones. It all reminded me of Trump and how he controls his 'cult'. He too is a very scary person. I just hope this changes in November, but as I told a friend, Trump will still have three months to screw things up.

    Stay healthy and sane.

  7. Time sure does fly when you have nothing going on because of a pandemic, doesn't it? I stopped doing click list now and go to the grocery store again. I wear a mask and stay away from people as much as possible. We've been doing a little traveling also. It's pretty easy right now and very uncrowded.

  8. Well, hello ... it's good to 'see' you and Charlie again! So sorry to learn of your sis-in-law's passing. So much improvisation; but it's good to know mourners are allowed to gather again. Exciting times re. Harley's wedding! I hope you'll be sharing lots of pictures.

  9. It's good to see you pop up again. I haven't been doing much, but I've kept the blog going. I go grocery shopping and pick up a dinner here or there. That's about it. They're talking about opening schools, but our numbers are horrible. I do want to work, but I can't imagine how it would be safe.

    Take care. Stay safe.

  10. Lovely to hear you are ok and Charlie is just way too cute! Things are improving here - restrictions are easing but we are still social distancing and having to wear masks on public transport. Later this month we will have to wear them in shops. We're still staying home and being careful. In the process of trying to move and looking forward to more grandbabies! Keep well Paula. Will look forward to hearing more about the wedding plans.

  11. I feel the same as you - keep hoping we will wake up from the nightmare of Trump.
I've been trying to keep sane - with him - with the heat wave we are having - with Covid19 fears... Just trying to find little pieces of peace and pleasure - in my knitting and my books!
