Outside my window...
It's summer! What more can I say about summer? Our temperatures hover in the upper 90's. We have humidity which comes and goes with whether or not we have had moisture. We had rain yesterday so the humidity today is higher. The skies are blue and the sun is shining. It is summer!
Pondering..
I ponder and ponder about the state of Washington D.C. Never in all of my 67 years on this earth have I been more ashamed of the actions and behaviors of our very own President. We would be screaming from the roof tops if other leaders from countries came into the United States and talked about our leader the way our President is doing on this NATO summit. It is embarrassing and so unnecessary. I have good friends and family members who support him and I ask myself every single day what is it they are seeing that I am not seeing. He is nasty. He is childish. And he is DANGEROUS!
Watching...
I'm watching Big Brother. It doesn't seem as good to me as in years past. I haven't picked a favorite yet. I know a lot of people like Tyler. I see Tyler a lot like I saw Paul these past two years. If you are obviously in control of the game this early on then there is a good chance you won't make it to the end. I liked Steve. But, of course, him being the oldest house guest he was voted out first. I thought Swaggy was playing a good game but his ego got the best of him. I can't pick a single girl that I will throw my support to yet. Like I said, just not feeling it. Are you watching? Do you have a favorite? Do you watch the live feeds? Or Big Brother After Dark on POP?
Reading...
I just finished (listening to) The President is Missing by James Patterson and Bill Clinton. I enjoyed it. I think I might have liked it better if I had read it instead of listening. I don't know. I'm pretty much over James Patterson books. The concept behind the book is scary. And it might just well already be going on here in America. A small part of it anyway. Look at how Russia has messed in our elections. Well, most of us believe they have.
Creating...
Taking down the Fourth of July mantle and decorating for the rest of summer. It will probably have a lot of sunflowers. Can you believe we are half-way through July already?
Learning...
I am going to be starting a new Bible Study tomorrow. It is called Seamless by Angie Smith. I am participating with a Facebook group. This study ties all the Bible together from Genesis to Revelations in one seamless story! I am looking froward to it. The study lasts for 7 weeks.
Planning....
Not much going on here. I'm not really planning anything much at the moment.
Drinking....
I just finished a wonderful summer cocktail that consisted of Vanilla vodka, orange juice with a splash of cranberry juice. Yummy good!
A quote to share...
...
A final thought...
Hope everyone is having a good summer. Life is good here. Things are happening but nothing worth sharing at this point. I'm enjoying the quiet and learning to love living alone.
I like your quote. It's so true. Nobody agrees with anyone 100%, so you have to follow your heart. I keep marking the weeks since our move to Vietnam, and we are at 7 weeks! We signed a 3-month lease to give us time to sort ourselves out before settling into something long-term, and this week marks the beginning of looking for "long-term". In a month, we'll be in a different home!
ReplyDeleteSummer is flying.
Yes, following our heart is best for us. No one has our interests at heart as much as we do. Can't wait to hear about your new home.
DeleteThat Bible study seems like a good one. I'm going to have to check it out. I followed Angie Smith's blog for awhile (I'm not sure if she still blogs or not but it was called "Bring the Rain.") I truly admired her and her husband's faith.
ReplyDeleteThat drink of yours sounds delicious!! Its amazing how many different flavors vodka comes in :)
betty
Until this I had never heard of her. I hope I enjoy the study!
DeleteYes, summer will be summer and the heat and humidity get me down, but I'm being lazy and trying to enjoy every bit of it. Sunflowers are going to be going up here and will probably carry on into fall too. I love them! It takes a while to adjust to living by yourself, but it will happen. I usually do a summer bible study too, but since I didn't finish the one I started last summer, I'm trying to finish it up and have not started a new one. It is hard to believe it's the middle of July.
ReplyDeleteAren't sunflowers wonderful?
DeleteWe surely have interesting weather this year. So many "heat of the day" thunderstorms at night. It's hard to believe summer is dwindling.
ReplyDeleteWe have just had crazy weather all year here!
DeleteIt is very hot here and we have had no rain for weeks. I avoid anyone who thinks Trump is a good president. They must be as bigoted as he is. I tried to read the Patterson book but it was too boring. Now I'm trying to read another boring best seller. Maybe it is just me.
ReplyDeleteI know that I should avoid those who think differently about Trump than I do. But I can't!!
DeleteIt's hot here and humid, yet everyone's grass is drying up because we haven't had any rain for a while. Summer always goes by way too fast for me! This is a busy one for us because of the moving thing so we haven't even been able to take a vacation.
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to think about the moving thing yet!
DeleteHi Paula - that's lovely that you're coping ... doing things, trying things ... and moving on from things ... summer is wonderful while it's here - despite the heat. Take care - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteDoing the best I can!
DeleteYUM on that cocktail! Almost sounds like a creamsicle, or an adult Orange Julius.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm so over James Patterson. Too prolific! But(!) after months of promises, I finally downloaded an audio book for my road trip. The Good Widow … didn't you review it here?
Yes, I did review The Good Widow. I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteWe are getting a thunderstorm right now with a good rain (but I'm in NH). That should settle in my plantings I did yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGood!
DeleteLet's all make sure we vote. This appears the only way to sway those who continue to allow our current government to act as idiots.
ReplyDeleteI will vote!!
DeleteAh yes, the joys of summer. Hopefully you'll get a bit of a cool down and a lessening of humidity.
ReplyDeleteNo lessening of humidity here. It rained last night !!
DeleteI am watching Big Brother, I like Sam and Tyler:) We did a two year Bible Study one time, learned so much, took notes in the margin of my study bible:)
ReplyDeleteI recently got a Bible I can color in. Love it!!
DeleteI'm with you on Big Brother--I have to laugh every week at the "Least Trending" person because I still don't know all the names of the girls and the Bros I just call Bros (I have no idea what their names are)!
ReplyDeleteHave you watched Yellowstone (on the Paramount channel)? It's quite good--and I'm not really into cowboys.
I haven't read much Patterson but I was thinking of getting this book with Clinton, I've read some reviews that were certainly riveting! I think I'll eye read it instead of listening to it based on your thoughts.
Happy summer! xo
I haven't watched Yellowstone. I will check into it. I don't even know if I get a channel called Paramount. LOL. Let me know if you liked the written version.
DeleteI've never missed an episode of Big Brother and I'm still enjoying it this time around. Swaggy got on my nerves with all his "self importance" attitude. I liked Steve too. Not sure who I'm rooting for either. Too early to tell for me.
ReplyDeleteI hear that. I just can't like any of them yet. All the girls get on my nerves. And I used to really like Scottie. But this week he's getting on my nerves.
DeleteGlad you are enjoying your summer. I started Bib Brother, but haven't kept up. I think it was because of the World Cup. Wow! We have passed the middle of July already! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBig Brother, not Bib. Oh goodness gracious. Good thing I don't have to type much at work.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha....I knew what you meant. I'm able to keep up with BB because I am NOT doing anything else.
DeleteYum that cocktail sounds delicious! and I happen to have some vanilla vodka at home.
ReplyDeleteHope you give it a try. I like it!!
DeleteThis whole post sounds peaceful. Good for you dear!
ReplyDeleteThank you Felicia
