I can't help but start this favorites post with something good to eat. I got a bag of toffee in my monthly subscription box from a local boutique. This was a bag of awesome toffee from Toffee To go. Delicious! Was mouth-watering milk chocolate with toffee and roasted almonds and coverered with walnuts on top. I ate every single piece of it myself. Didn't share with a single soul!
I have used Clinique products for years. But I haven't tried this one before. It is also delicious. It is a moisturizer in the form of a gel that goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly. It is not greasy. A little goes a long way. A full size bottle of this is more than I want to pay at one time but I got a smaller size at Ulta for only $5. What a bargain.
If you are like me (and many older women) you have disappearing eyebrows. Mine are due to years and years of plucking them into a really find line. Which is no longer in style. (not that I give a hoot about being in style). I've tried many brow pencils, powders, and creams over the years but this simple little cream has become my current favorites. Plus I got it at the Dollar Tree. So it only cost me....wait for it...a buck. Yep. And it stays in place all day long. Goes to prove you don't need to spend a lot to look fabulous.

Then there is this darling little

guy who flew onto my back patio and spent the day pecking at my window. Have you heard the legend of the Cardinal? Supposedly they are bringing messages from the sprit world. Brought me comfort anyway.
Last, but not least, is my Spring/Easter mantle. It has brought me much joy in the month of March. The top picture is a Happy Easter wooden banner that I bought at Target (we no longer have a Target store in Hutchinson...it closed) last year for $3. The little blue ball lights I have had for a couple of years. They, too, came from the Target Dollar Spot. I think they were $5. I bought the wooden spring and Easter words at Target this year. $3 each. The adorable little teddy bear was a birthday gift from Justin many, many years ago. The ceramic bunny is from the Dollar Spot last year ($3) and the bowl of eggs with spiky sweet gun balls sit in the middle of my dining room table. Harley and I gathered the little gum balls from my cousin's sweet gum tree while we were in Oklahoma for spring break. Love them.
That is my favorites for the month of March. What has been your favorites this month??
I never plucked my eyebrows thin, but I lost them anyway. Doc says it is a result of changing hormones. I have been considering tattoos, which my friend did after she lost hers to chemo.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is those nasty hormones for some of us. I don't know about tattoos. Let me see a picture if you decide to do it!
DeleteHappy Easter! My favorite new thing for March was a set of metallic colored pencils. from a company called The fine TOUCH. 12 colors for $4.99 at Hobby Lobby. :)
ReplyDeleteThose sound like some fun colored pencils. I will have to check them out.
DeleteI love your monthly round ups!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kwiz!
DeleteWhat an awesome experience for Justin, helping rescue that eagle! (Jealous, party of one....) Yes, I totally believe in the legend of red birds come to visit. Our 'new' backyard has a water feature and cardinal, that I'm convinced is mother, come to visit. How she loved her cardinals!
ReplyDeleteGonna check out that eyebrow 'fix' soon! Hormones be darned, I've never really had any brows to begin with.
Yes, it was an experience for him for sure. I love my cardinals too!
DeleteI really didn't have any thing new to love about March but I'm thankful that it brought Spring our way! I have used Clinique for more years than I can count and I do love the moisturizer and use it faithfully. I love toffee too and yours looks delicious. March 2018 is now a thing of the past and today April 1st I'm wishing you and yours a very happy Easter !
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping we will see spring soon here. I am so tired of the cold
DeleteHappy Easter! Love the photo with Justin and the bald eagle, how cool that they found it and can help it to get healed.
ReplyDeleteSo cool for sure!
DeleteOh wow, Clinique. Takes me back to my teen years. I used to use their stuff back then. (I now buy my cosmetics and facial cleansers online. Much easier.)
ReplyDeleteVery cool with the eagle.
What cosmetics do you use Liz?
DeleteBelated Happy Easter. Enjoy reading your catch ups. I'm catching up on blogs after a busy weekend - family here and Nathan was 1. Can't believe how quickly that year has gone!
ReplyDeleteYes, this time is flying!
DeleteI love toffee! Now you are making me want some - LOL! My favorite moisturizer by Elizabeth Arden - that I've been using for over 35 years - was discontinued a year or so ago - whaaaa! I've been eeking out the bottle I still have here... I'm going to check into this Clinique that you mention here!

Don't you just hate it when something we love is discontinued?
DeleteIt's been a busy and stressful (good stress) time around here to which is evident by how long it's been since I visited you here on your blog. Happy Spring Paula.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy with some good stress!
