Some of the things that are on my 'favorite things' list for November have actually been around my house for a bit of time. Like, for instance, the telephone receiver that plugs into the headphone connection on my iPhone. I love this thing. I got it last year at Christmas during our Dirty Santa gift exchange. You can get it at Walmart for $9.99. For all of us who still like to TALK on the phone this in a genius invention. No more holding that little flat box to my ear when I want to talk on the phone for an hour or so!
I've talked on here before about how much I like the Mrs. Myer's products for cleaning. I got the Christmas releases this year. I buy my products from Grove Collaborative. Let me tell you washing dishes with Peppermint scented dish soap is the best! And washing your hands and the scent lingers for a bit...to die for. Nothing says Christmas to me like Peppermint!

Remember me talking about my favorite cup in a recent post? This is it. Harley got it from Hobby Lobby. It is stainless steel on the inside. I believe it is just painted on the outside. Have you used one of these tumblers? They are amazing. I can put ice water in it before I go to bed and the next morning the ice has not melted. That makes it great in my book of favorites. Works the same for keeping hot liquids hot. I keep a flex straw in mine because I am sloppy at drinking from little holes!!
My newest favorite bullet journal tool is this little beauty. And it was affordable. I can't use a compass to save my life. But this is wonderful. It's called Helix Angle and Circle Maker. Just put your pencil in one of the little holes, hold down the side, and twirl it around. Perfect circles. I'll show a couple of my creations here.

Speaking of iPhones....do you change your wallpaper to match the season? This is my favorite Christmas wallpaper. It makes me smile when I open my phone everyday! That does it for November! What are you digging on right now? Share a favorite or two with me!
I used to have a picture of my hubby and daughter as my wall paper, but everytime the phone did an update it would go away. Sometimes it would disappear even without an update. Got tired of trying to repost it, so gave up and use the generic one that came with the phone. I don't like heavy cups, so always use a water bottle (plastic) that goes with me everywhere. Never knew such a thing existed as the plug in phone thingy you have. I often (if I'm alone in the house), have my cell phone on speaker so I don't have to hold it to my ear, plus sometimes I'm doing other things at the same time. November is my BD month, but it's not a favorite month for me. Then I know I can't keep pretending summer is over, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis cup isn't at all heavy. Not any heavier than a water bottle filled with water. And it keeps the water cold much longer. I don't like having the phone on speaker! It has a hollow sound, I think! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteOK you got me, though the helix circle guide thingy was the lid to your cup. Curious how many times do you charge your phone daily?
ReplyDeleteJust one charge a day. I start with it fully charged and then usually need another charge near supper time. Plug it in at bedtime!
DeleteThat phone gizzymodo is brilliant and soon will be mine. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI know you will like it Joanne!
DeleteThat phone-set is a panic! I don't much like to talk on the phone, but wouldn't it be great to watch other drivers' reactions if they looked over?
ReplyDeleteIs yours a YETI tumbler? My boss recently got everyone one (more about that later) but I HATE it. No matter how many times I wash it, I can't get the metallic taste out of my mouth. See, I don't like my drinks with ice/super cool, but I understand they're great for those of you who do.
Ditto what you said about peppermint. I'm going to look for those Mrs. Myers products. (...simple pleasures.)
I have certain people that I like to talk to on the phone. No, it is not a Yeti. Those are much too expensive. But this one gets the same high marks as a Yeti! I haven't noticed a metallic taste in mine. But I'll bet you can re-gift it to someone who'd love it :) Mrs. Myers is also sold at Target. And probably Amazon. The peppermint is a seasonal thing. Yes, it's the simple pleasures that keep me going!!
DeleteI like that phone set up. I always feel awkward talking on the cell phone, wondering if people can hear me, etc. I'll have to look for it. Oh my, the tragedies that Nora faced in such a short time. I checked out her site; will definitely want to read some books of hers after the new year. I haven't heard of the game 10; I'm still addicted to Word Tornado here after 4 years (I need a life :)
ReplyDeletebetty
I haven't heard of Word Tornado. I looked in the App Store and couldn't find it. My son plays Word With Friends but he is way better than me so I finally gave it up. I have so many books on my list to read! We will never run out of books will we?
DeletePaula, Word Tornado is a Facebook game.
DeleteThanks Vicki!
DeleteWe just use the double wall hospital jugs with straws:) I like you circle maker...way cool!
ReplyDeleteI bought a new potato peeler, mine is about 45 years old...it is funny how the new one peels so much easier:)
I recently got a new potato peeler too. It is amazing how much sharper it is. I would love a new set of knives now!
DeleteI also can't use a compass, so I ordered a couple of the circle makers for my classroom! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd tens! Going to download it now.
Hope you enjoy the game. I am glad you ordered the circle maker. I am really having fun with it!
DeleteI like that phone idea for the cell. Although I only use mine when I am away from home, I hate talking into a ...well, what exactly is that flat thing? My addiction is sudoku on my Kindle. And reading. And now Christmas decorating.
ReplyDeleteI've tried Sudoku and I am just no good at it. I need to get more into reading!! And I really need to finish my Christmas decorating!!
DeleteAll great ideas to have for favorites. I've never tried Mrs. Myers products but that dish soap sounds very tempting!
ReplyDeleteI am loving it. I also got Orange-clove and Iowa Pine. Both very Christmas-y!
DeleteI bought one of those handsets for my brother for Christmas or a birthday one year. They're cute. I had forgotten about them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great podcast concept. I'm glad you found something that works for you.
My roommates have those mugs. I've been toying with the idea of getting one for myself.
Love the circle maker. I could have used that on Friday. The kiddos had to make circles, and they were scouring the classroom for things to use.
My favorite phone game at the moment is Shuffle Cats. It's a rummy game. I'm on a losing streak at the moment, so I won't be touching it today, but winning streaks are quite fun.
Get yourself a mug for Christmas Liz. I didn't know you had roommates! Cool!! The circle maker is fun. Your classroom would like it! But it is flimsy and probably wouldn't make it through a lot of kids! I've been playing Shuffle Cats since yesterday when I read your comment!! LOL!
DeleteLove Terrible, Thanks for asking too. Also Love Me, which is Canadian.
ReplyDeleteMight have to get me one of those phone receivers
I'll look into Love Me! Thanks for the suggestion.
DeleteI love the phone thingie! Need to find this. I don't have a cell phone, but do have cordless sets. So when I wanted to talk on those for whatever reason, I could plug this in. I mainly use my landline when I talk - because I hate putting the little phones to my ears. But this would give me another option!
ReplyDeleteLinda in VA
I don't know if the phone thing would work with a cordless. But you could give it a try. Let me know. I got rid of my landline when Richard died. We only have the cell phones now.
DeleteDecember isn't my fave time of the year, nor is November, but I like the stuff you point out-- it is the little things.
ReplyDeleteI don't change my phone wallpaper all that often, but this post has given me ideas!
December isn't my favorite either! I love the changing wallpapers!
DeleteHow cool! I've never seen a telephone receiver like that. I'll look for one, I would love it!
ReplyDeleteI have a few Myer's products under my sink. I think I'd love the Peppermint scented dish soap.
I'll have to check out the Terrible, Thanks for Asking podcast.
I bought w tumblers like that at Wal-Mart, and love them. I got used to using a flex straw while my husband was alive because when he was in bed he couldn't lift his head enouh to drink from a glass.
That bullet journal tool is too neat! I have a few journals I plan on starting Jan. 1st.
I love playing games on my phone. Right now I'm addicted to The Wizzard Of Oz.
I usually don't change my iPhone wallpaper, it's a photo I took at St. Pete Beach.
That is when I started using the Flex straws too Vicki! I just pulled my last one from the drawer yesterday. I need to acquire some more. I will check out The Wizzard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteI got so far behind....I can't believe I am just now reading your November faves and it is nearly the middle of December.
ReplyDeleteI know Wendy! I get behind too!
