Yummy |
Another favorite thing for this time of the year is making my house smell delicious. I bought some was melts from Walmart and they are simple mouth-watering. Also, they are only $2.00 each. Much better than what I usually spend on my Scentsy wax melts. However the throw isn't as good as Scentsy they are still wonderful. My favorites this time were:
Pumpkin Maple Syrup
Better Homes and Gardens
Banana Pumpkin Bread
Better Homes and Gardens
Pumpkin Apple Muffins
ScentSationals
All of these have left me hankering for some really good fall pumpkin food. But that isn't the only way I like to 'smell the place up'. Bath and Body Works had some of my favorite candles on sale. And who can pass up a good deal? I bought some candles and got some of my favorite show gel and body cream free!!
Marshmallow Fireside is a pretty popular one. It has notes of toasted marshmallows, smoldering wood, fire-roasted vanilla, crystallized amber. You can really close your eyes and think you are sitting at the campfire with a marshmallow on a stick. Yum!

While we are still talking about the wonderful smells of fall I got a new gift set from Grove Collaborative. It is the Apple Cider scent for the kitchen. Let me tell you if you like the smell of apple cider you will love these products. I can't clean the kitchen often enough. This set also came with a soy candle and a hand towel. I love their towels so much. For all 5 pieces it was a steal at $22.59. And free shipping. Do any of you use Grove Collaborative? Love them! They have the best walnut scrubbers pads!

This is the model I bought |
Another of my September favorites is Sonic Corn Dogs. They were on sale September 27 for $.50 each. We stocked up on some for the freezer. They won't last long since Harley likes them for her snack when she gets out of school.

Happy October folks! I wonder what this month will bring us. Do you have any favorites you discovered in September?
You had so many wonderful favorites in September! All wonderful scents it sounded like to make your house smell so delightful! I just can't believe it is October.

Got to find happiness where you can get it :)
DeleteHi Paula - cheese curds I've not come across ... but they look good. So glad you had a happy time at the Fair with Harley ... and were able to indulge in a few things ... and yes October = time for change ...cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteCheese curds are wonderful! October is here!
DeleteWe need 'smell-a-blog'. Bath and Body Works is one of my favorite shops.
ReplyDeleteYes to smell a blog!!
DeleteLots of favourites there and although I'm not a great lover of biographies I might just give that book a read.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to her story!
DeleteMy favorite find for October happened yesterday, October 1st, when I went to Sam's club and found of box of McCafe Pumpkin Spice K cups. They are really good ! I have had cheese curds as they were a favorite of my oldest son. The were a bit rich for me, but they are good. I'd probably enjoy the book about Hilary too. I have been a fan of hers for a long time. I need to get some new fall candles and do love the White Barn ones. Will be definitely be looking for that Pumpkin one you mentioned. Hope you have a wonderful October and a very happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the Pumpkin Spice yet. I don't like the one they have at Starbucks that everyone raves about. Hope you find yourself a lovely candle Ma!
DeleteCheese curds 12 months a year! My Hillary is still in the box, but on top of the pile.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it Joanne!
DeleteWe can be Chai Latte buddies. Luv 'em! Luv cheese curds, too, though I buy a bag of mixed white and yellow. I am maybe on the unusual side, but I can't do much for scents in my house. I get a sore throat and my nose burns from most scented things. I haven't enpven been able to wear my favorite perfume in years. It think the change came as a result of my Bell's Palsey episode. Unfortunately, GN has to limit her use of ssented products, too. Poor girl. I feel bad about that. Your Keurig looks pretty sleek. I had a favorite movie and it was "The Visitor."
ReplyDeleteI haven't tasted the white ones but I have seen them! It is unfortunate you can't tolerate the smells. I have a cousin with that problem. I'm thankful I can enjoy them. We should have a Chai Latte out by the back fence sometime!!
DeleteOne of the members of my book group chose Hillary's book--I can't wait to listen to it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will like it.
DeleteI've never tasted cheese curds, but people-watching is my favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a Scentsy or burn candles so much anymore ...vet said it was possible that our burning candles all the time contributed to Caraleigh's respiratory distress. ANYway, I'm looking for something inviting - but subtle - to use after the first of the year when we put our house on the market.
That would be awful if I couldn't burn my candles or my Scentsy! You should be okay with an essential oil diffuser. Right now I am smelling the slight scent of peppermint from mine!
DeleteAh yes, pumpkin is everywhere. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz!
DeleteHey Paula,
ReplyDeleteHappy October! Loved your Favorite September Things post. The state fair sounds so fun. I have incredibly fond memories of the Clearfield County Fair in Pennsylvania that I went to every summer as a kid. And I love cheese curds! I have some in my fridge right now. I have a dogsitting customer who always brings me back cheese curds when he goes to Wisconsin. They are fabulous. I had never had cheese curds before until he introduced me to them. I don't know where to get them here in town. I've never seen them at the grocery store so I really enjoy them when I do get them.
I love the Fall scents. I have never tried the Bath & Body Works candles. Are they strong? I love Yankee candles and have so often been disappointed by other candles because the scents don't seem to be strong enough.
I can't wait to read Hillary's book! Or maybe I'll get the audio version. She's coming to Austin for a book signing at great local bookstore and I got the email notice and immediately went to purchase tickets and it was already sold out. Within minutes! I was disappointed for sure but it is just a signing: she's not doing a talk. But I sure would've loved to meet her. You're right: she is such a strong woman and a great role model. I'm still pissed and dismayed that more people didn't go out to vote because this monster who is in the White House now is sending our country backward. The strides that our country had made over the last decade are being turned back at horrifying speeds and EVERY DAY finds me saying What the f*** is happening here??!! Anyway...enough of that!
Just escape and get lost in your autumn scents...Enjoy.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Michele I always love your responses. They are so chatty and detailed! Yes, I love Yankee candles too. Bath and Body works 'throw' depends on the candle. Usually I can smell them throughout our house. Do you have Audible?? Send me an email, if you do. I think I can send you my copy of What Happened!
DeleteThanks Paula. I don't have Audible...yet. Been thinking about it though. Did you finish Hillary's book? Have you read Elizabeth Warren's book "This Fight is Our Fight"? It just came out a few months ago. I bought the Kindle version but haven't started it yet. I'm in the middle of reading "Suspect" by Robert Crais. Very good book about and LAPD K-9 officer and his German shepherd.
DeleteWe cannot tolerate any fragrance at all. I saw Hillary on TV selling her book, I suppose she had to do something besides speak at events to keep her busy. I wonder how much of her book is truthful ? :)
ReplyDeleteI believed most of it!
