Outside my window...
Here I sit on a cool Sunday evening. It is dark, dark, dark outside. No stars, no moon, lots of clouds. It was a cloudy, cool, dreary day here in my little neck of the woods! Fall is in the air!
Pondering...
Sitting here pondering the arrival of fall. It is 90* right now. Not very fall-like! But it will come. And it will be brief, I'm sure. But the leaves will change. And fall from the trees. And need to be raked. Or not. Whichever camp you fall into. (I wrote this section on Tuesday. I wasn't pondering much on Sunday
Watching...
I am watching the Emmy's right now. I just told Harley that I had never seen a year when so many of the stars looked spacey, drugged, drunk, or just plain blah! What in the heck is wrong with them?? Did you watch? Did you notice that too?
Reading...
I'm still trying to make it to the end of The Railway Man's Wife. Maybe this week. I finished listening to The Prettiest One. Did you catch my review? It is down below. And I started Hillary Rodham Clinton's book What Happened on Audible. She is reading it. Very soothing to listen to at night. And I've fallen asleep the past three nights. She might have too much of a soothing voice. Or else I'm just wishing she was our President and that makes me sleep better. Sorry, I strayed there for a bit. So far I am enjoying her story. (And for all the naysayers out there.....SHE DOES TAKE RESPONSIBILITY)! But the other reasons she lost the election have a lot to do with other people!
Creating...
I haven't been very creative lately. Unless you want to count the lines I mowed in the grass today as creative. Ha! Ha!
Learning...
Listening to Hillary's book I am learning a lot of the 'behind the scenes' stuff that goes on in a campaign. WOW! Surprised anyone wants to run for any kind of office.
Planning....
I truly am planning on becoming more productive. I feel so lazy! And I don't know if it is even real laziness. Or just a general lack of caring if anything gets done. I, even at times, wonder about depression. But I usually shake that word off and instead blame myself by saying I'm lazy!
Drinking....
Found some Dunkin' Donuts K-cups for my new Keurig. And now I am loving my coffee again. I need to order me one of those re-usable cups and just buy my coffee by the pounds at the store again. Save the other cups for other times.
What's in the kitchen...
Monday...leftovers
Tuesday...Chicken and pasta
Wednesday...leftovers
Thursday...Chicken Lime Tacos
Friday...Taco Crunch
Saturday...TBA
Sunday...TBA

Harley and me at the fair |
picture I sent to Harley while at the movie 'It' with her boyfriend |
Paige and date for homecoming |
the fun I've had with this big guy (yes, he is fake) |
I know I've said it before but where does the time go? I cannot believe we are already in the final days of September. What are your thoughts??
LOL! The picture you sent to Harley is hilarious! It has been warmer and more humid than usual for this of year here in Michigan. I am looking forward to Fall this year if only for the good sleeping in the cooler weather!
ReplyDeleteCool weather will be nice for many reasons. I love opening the windows!!
DeleteThat picture of you is hilarious as Jeanette said. It was cool here but now it is warming up again. I am going to try not to turn on the a/c. Five elections were plenty enough for me. They just got uglier and uglier.
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect picture to send at this time. Yes, I can imagine you would commiserate with Hillary on elections
DeleteI think we had the Emmy's on for a whole 10 minutes before I couldn't stand it anymore.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that photo of you! 'Bet Harley thinks she's got the coolest gram in the history of ever!
LOL! I can imagine that you didn't care for the Emmy's at all. I actually loved all the Trump humor but the stars are seemed wasted. Nope, Harley doesn't much think her gram is cool!!
DeleteOh, so that's where our heat went! I was wondering. Not missing it, mind you. Not at all ;)
ReplyDeleteOurs is here until next week then we will start seeing fall temps!
DeleteLOL with your clown picture! Love the picture of Paige and her date for homecoming (if I forgot to like it on Facebook forgive me, I sometimes have issues with Facebook if I'm on my tablet.)
ReplyDeleteIts cooling down here now. We actually went 5 hours without the air conditioning cutting on this morning (a record indeed). Its nice to get an occasional cool breeze at times.
I don't have control of the remote here so we never watch award shows although these days I wouldn't know half of what is going on since I don't have control of the remote here :) (it is okay I don't have control; lost it years ago)
betty
I didn't have control over the remote either Betty. I'd give it back to him in a heartbeat. I think. LOL
DeleteHi Paula - wonderful photos ... I'm glad you're enjoying Hillary's book and learning about the behind the scenes - interesting ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHillary's book is great. So true and so sad for women yet!
DeleteI was hoping for a woman President, I think we are ready for one. I've been watching the old reruns of West Wing on Netflix and it has given me a different slant on politics for sure. I do love your clown picture ! We all need a laugh now and then. It's still summer as far as our weather goes here too. I've been far to lazy but that is about to change. Fall brings with it many busy days. I'll be having lots of leaf raking to do here. They are beginning to fall and it'll be awhile before the trees are bare. Hope you have a wonderful week. These days are going way too fast !
ReplyDeleteAny President would have been better than what we got. In my opinion. Oh I should put West Wing on my future list. I love political dramas.
DeleteWarmed back up here again into the 90's, but the leaves are still falling. That may be more from lack of moisture than fall though. Rain is only a dream here since Harvey dumped on us. I wonder if it is hurricanes east of us sucking the moisture away.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen is pretty blah this week also. Chili on Sunday, Ham & beans on Monday and left overs the rest of the week. Might be time to go grocery shopping again
Doctors appointments, Urologist. High PSA count. Biopsies next Tuesday.
Some of the leaves on that 'hated' tree in the backyard are dropping here too. We need some rain. My 'lawn' is looking weedier and weedier.
DeleteHey there Ms Pauka! Let's see...I didn't watch the Emmys. Love the clown pic. Hate the heat and humidity, but not that fond of the winter cold anymore either. I'd glad you have found your K-cuos. I highly recommend West Wing...favorite TV series ever! The writing was so brilliant, in my opinion. I nearly wrote in Jed Bartlett (Martine Sheen's. character) on my ballot for President...but I didn't. Homecoming already! Gosh, time flies, but it is September. You got to the fair!!! I'm glad you went. I remember you mentioning that you might go alone. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteI'm not fond of winter either. I would much rather suffer through summer. But I am ready for a change right now. Today is pouring rain here. I will check into West Wing. I love politics!! Nope, Harley decided she wanted to go to the fair with me so I waited for her.
DeleteLove the clown picture!!! I have so much fun with SnapChat filters. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are fun, aren't they!
DeleteI love the clown picture, too! Such a fun grandma you are! :)
ReplyDeleteI doubt she would agree. But it was fun for me!!
DeleteLove the "It" picture and OMG that spider would give my DIL a heart attack! lol.
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun hiding it in different places. She doesn't react so much now as the first few times
DeleteI missed the Emmys and Miss America. Yes Fall is coming along fast soon it will be October. What a cute homecoming couple...oh to be young again! :)
ReplyDeleteSo true!
DeleteI have realized that fall is based on the difference between the daily low and high temps. Right now we are in 10+ degree difference (celsius), and it is gorgeously cool in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever watched the Emmy's... interesting observation.
In general, my thoughts are on the fact that we've lived here almost a year. Speaking of the difference a year makes!
Wow it is hard to believe you have been there a year!!
