Currently (well It was current yesterday)

Outside my window...

Today is the much anticipated and awaited solar eclipse. I'm not sure what all the hoopla is about. I am not really all that into science. But I guess it is something to get excited about. It is pretty cloudy here at my house so I don't know that we will be able to see anything here. Harley's school bought glasses for all the students and Harley was supposed to take pictures of the students watching the eclipse. BUT she has an optometrist appointment at 2:00 p.m. so I don't know what she will get to see.

Pondering..

I am pondering what our President will have to say to the nation, tonight, when he speaks. Will he read off the teleprompter and stay on track or will he go off script and act crazy like he has been lately. Prayers for our nation.

Watching...

I am watching CNN right now and the total eclipse is being shown in Wyoming. Very interesting.

Reading...

Still reading and still listening to the same books from last week. I have been wasting too much time on You Tube and I need to get back to my books!!

Learning...

Today I am learning more than I ever wanted to know about solar eclipses.

Planning....

I am thinking about my boy and wondering if I can plan a trip to see him this fall. He thinks he might get to come home at Christmas. But he doesn't know. And I think enough time has passed and I want to see him again.

Drinking....

I haven't been drinking much more than water with drops of lemon and grapefruit essential oils. I have added four more oils to my collection: peppermint, lavender, sweet orange, and another lemon. I bought myself a little infuser at Walmart but I am not really impressed with it. Will be looking on Amazon this week.

What's in the kitchen...

Monday...Leftovers
Tuesday...Autumn Chopped Salad
Wednesday...Broccoli Soup
Thursday...Hawaiian Chicken Bowls
Friday...Baked Chicken and Cauliflower
Saturday...Green Bean Soup
Sunday...Taco Spaghetti

A quote to share...

A final thought...

A bit of a short currently this week. I didn't have any new pictures on my camera. I have a picture that I wanted to share of my siblings and me but I can't figure out how to save it from my brother's email. If anyone knows how to save an embedded photo please share with me.

(I'm not sure why I didn't post this on Monday, but enjoy it anyway)

  1. The eclipse wasn't all that much an event here, it got a bit darker for about 5 min. and that was it, it was very cloudy yesterday.

All I do with a photo in my email is right click and "save image as" to my desktop.

    1. I finally figured out how to keep the picture. I just forwarded the email to me, opened it on my phone, and saved it to my phone. I will share it next week.

  2. It was a partial eclipse here, so... underwhelming.

    1. It was only partial here too! But still kind of neat.

  3. Vicki has my only known solution to saving an emailed photo. If it's in adobe, though, you're pretty outta luck and will need to ask for it as a jpeg. You have a good rest of the week.

  4. Those who were in totality were awed by the eclipse. Now I know that I'm going to need to travel to one one of these days.

  5. It got dark here for a bit yesterday with the eclipse, but I wasn't sure if it was also because clouds were moving in. I do remember years ago my mom waking us up in the middle of the night to see a lunar eclipse; that was pretty impressive. I do hope you can plan a trip to see Darien this fall. Its hard when they sprout their wings and then fly away, but that's what we've been teaching them to do.

  6. Hi Paula - experiencing the eclipse is to get to feel the gloom, the dampness, the birds stop singing, the silence and the dark - yes it doesn't last long ...but it's an amazing coincidence of our natural world. I hope you get to see your boy soon ... cheers Hilary

    1. It did get very quiet here. It was interesting!

  7. The epicenter of the eclipse was in the town my stepdaughter lives in - not far from his hometown. So we heard a lot about it on our trip to the States.

Also, I've started using essential oils, too! I started with peppermint and lavender, to help me sleep. Then got a diffuser to use lemon grass and lavender against the mosquitoes. It's a slippery slope - you'll be hooked!

    1. That is what I am afraid of Red. Falling off the slippery slope.

  8. Taking one step at a time and living one day at a time is the best way to live. Hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. That is my new mantra.....one step at a time! So much is out of my control. And I have to learn to give that up!

  9. No eclipse here but it was all over the news so I sort of got to see it.

  10. Ya, I don't 'get' all the hoopla over the eclipse. Perhaps if we lived up north (Oregon) it would be a different story. Tom's ex flew up to San Francisco with a religious group to watch. Today their daughter shared (that leaving) it took them almost 5 hours to travel 9 miles.

Crossing my fingers you get to see your soldier boy!

  11. I enjoy science so I enjoyed hearing and seeing all I could about the eclipse!

  12. It was cloud covered here too so I didn't do any eclipse watching.
