Currently-A life List

Outside my window...

The sky is gray and it is raining now. The temp is low 80's. Perfect day. For napping.

Pondering..

Oh I am so over politics. I thought the promise from this President was it wasn't going to be politics as usual. That he was going to drain the swamp. That he was going to "Make America Great Again". Do you all remember those two years of campaigning. I am so embarrassed by him. It seems like everyday I wake up to more of his trash talking about people he doesn't agree with. I don't think his momma taught him any manners at all. How long with the Republican party continue to let him make them look bad. I remember when Republicans were respected. Like Ronald Reagen. Dwight Eisenhower. Abe Lincoln. Well I don't actually remember Abe but you know what I mean. So sad to see the most respected office is the world being treated this way. Okay, I've ended my rant.

Watching...

I am still watching Big Brother. And still waiting for them to get smart and get rid of Paul. This year seems so scripted. Of course they would bring back Paul. He makes for good TV. (I guess) And of course Cody would win the Battle Back. And then, of course, his girlfriend would win the next Head of Household. So predictable. What do all my fellow Big Brother fans think?

Reading...

I am really been remiss on reading this summer. I have gotten hung up on other things. I am loving Audible for some books. But I am currently reading Brothers and Bones by James Hankins, Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist. And I am listening to Belong To Me by Marisa de los Santos. (This one I've been listening to for a long time. It's not that I don't like it. I just keep falling asleep).

Planning....

I am loving my new Bullet Journal. I am a list maker and using a bullet journal really fits this obsession of mine. I will share some pictures in my July favorites post.

Feeling...

July was a hard month. Part of it was because of the anniversary of Richard's death, I'm sure. It seems to just bring all that back. (Like it ever really left). Part of it might have been Harley being gone through the first part. I enjoyed my time but it making me see that life without her here is going to be very different. My overall feelings for July seemed to be one of sadness. Hopefully that will all change in August. I am thinking maybe I will try to make my mood for August: Productive!

Drinking....

I am now enjoying my second cup of French Vanilla coffee. I have also really enjoyed Cherry Lime-aids this month.

What's in the kitchen...

Monday...Chicken Pot Pie

Tuesday...Italian Sausage Frittata

Wednesday...BBQ Chicken quarters

Thursday...Chili Dogs

Friday...Fish sticks and Fries

Saturday...Salad

Sunday...Easy Beef Stroganoff

  1. Yea, I'm so over all the polical news.

I've watched ever episode of Big Brother since the first show. I love love love it. And unlike you, I love Paul. I think he's hilarious. Cody, not so much. I'm sad he's still there, same with Jessica.

I've just this year gotten addicted to audio books. I've listened to more of them than I've read.

I've wanted to start a Bullet Journal, but I can't seem to get started.

The anniversary of your spouse's death is definitely the hardest.

I use Sugar Free Vanilla Caramel Coffee-Mate (powder) in my coffee. It's like drinking dessert.

I love all the foods on your menu, except I've never tried a Frittata.

I love that quote, and the photos. And yes, I'd wear gloves too!

    1. I am loving the bullet journal. I am not that great at drawing and creativeness but this is great. I will post my frittata recipe sometime. So good!

  2. I'm sorry July has been rough for you. Funny how grief ebbs and flows, isn't it?

I also can't believe how the majority of houseguests are following Paul's every command. I love that Cody doesn't trust him--go Cody! The showmances are annoying me, though. And Josh has GOT TO GO!

  4. I'm so curious about your bullet journal! Seems appropriate, given our proposed choices.

    That's a great smile on Harley's face!

  6. How can it be August already? Harley will still be at home after she graduates, won't she for a bit? Its tough to be an empty next (again for you) and then also not to have your beloved spouse to help you through it. I'm really bad about news/politics, etc. I'll catch a snippet of something and ask hubby about it if I'm interested. He does follow news/politics and has that 1 hour each way commute daily where he listens to a lot of news and talk radio. Sometimes its just easier to stick my head under a rock and not get too involved with it all (though I know not the best attitude to take :)

Love the quote! Need to break down some walls!

    1. No, Betty, she doesn't want to stay here after she graduates. She wants her own apartment. I don't think she will be able to manage that and full time college. But we'll see.

  7. Even here in Canada, family and friends have strong opinions about American politics. Let me just say that I'm glad I didn't have to vote ;)
August has arrived much too quickly. It always feels like a countdown back to work... I have to remember to make each day count!
Glad to hear you got a reprieve from the heat. We need rain here, too!

    1. I've often wondered if Canadians get involved in all the American controversy. Ha Ha!

  8. It is August already. I know what you mean about the way you feel about July. I feel the same about November. We've been in the lower 80's here and it feels good. It's only when it is close to 90 and above that I don't like summer, but thankfully we've a good one here for the most part. Hope you have a great week ahead.

  9. I so agree with you about this current president! What a joke he is! What a messed up White House we have right now. So sad! Hard to believe it's August already! This summer is flying by!

  10. The press doesn't do president Trump any favors that is for sure. None of the Senators or Represenatives will get on board with anything. I believe many of them up for election will lose their seats. Drain the swamp. Did you see the stock market today..all time high. We have to hang in there with Trump he is our president! I wish they would "get over" the Russia thing, Russia did not sway my vote...I wanted a change from the usual Democratss and Republicans. Change is sometime hard.
August is here! A new month..and I liked your sign! :)

    1. I don't really think it is the press that doesn't do Trump any favors. I think the President doesn't help himself at all. Yes, the stock market is at an all time high. But I struggle to find anything Trump has to do with it. Russia didn't sway my vote either. But if there is nothing there then the special prosecutor will find that out. He just makes himself look guilty with all the protesting. I did not vote for him. He is too nasty and crass for my taste. But I would like to state that I do love the office of the presidency. Just not the current man.

  11. Happy August Paula. Glad that July is behind you. I was too busy in July to take notice of much but I did note that it was the anniversary of Richard's death and sent up a prayer for you and for him. That is something we Catholics do...pray for our dead.
