#FridayFive-May 12th Edition

"Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so here’s my #FridayFive which are the five things that I am grateful for this week. Join in! What are you grateful for?"

1) I am grateful  God gave me a brain and the ability to think for myself. In this past week of so much political b.s. on TV I am so thankful that I can think through this and not believe all that I hear. I can make up my own mind.

2) I am grateful  for the rain we have received this week that has made my grass green and my flowers bloom. Such pretty daisies and irises.

3) I am grateful school is almost over. We are more than ready for a summer break here at my house.

4) I am grateful for the sun that is shining today. I know that might contradict #2 but there is a time for everything to end. Right?

5) As we are getting ready to celebrate the mother's of the nation, I am more than grateful for my mom. She gave us the best she had to give. And I love her and miss her every single day!!
Happy Mother's Day to all my family and friends.

  1. Thanks, Paula! Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day, as well. Yes, there is a time to every season under heaven. In fact, I am grateful that it changes.

  2. You have grass now? Watered mine today and because I couldn't do yard work, did housework instead. Sounds like we made up enough time that Syrena does get out May 24. That was a lot of going to school early and getting out later to make up that near month

  4. Lots of good things to be grateful for! I try to list 10 things daily in my prayer journal of thankfuls, usually from the day before. It does help put a different perspective on things. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day Paula!

  5. Being grateful for what you have certainly improves my outlook on life. I hope you too have a very Happy Mothers Day. One of sons and his family brought dinner over last night. It was the first of my Mother's day treats. It was totally unexpected but appreciated for sure!

  6. Applauding your #1! Anymore it's all I can do to not scream at the faux 'news'casters. Don't they know, I don't CARE? (I can turn off my car radio, but Tom has to have the TV on.)

    Happy Mother's Day!

    1. Myra since I love you I won't argue with you about 'faux' news. I think the news are straight up. Who else are we supposed to believe?? I can't choose to believe Trump. My TV is on all the time too!

  8. Happy Mother's Day Paula. A good list of five. We've had rain followed by sunshine here too. It has also been warmer so that's nice but we definitely needed some rain.

  13. I hope that you had a great Mother's Day, Paula.

I don't think being happy for the sun contradicts being happy for the rain. We need both for things to grow. Both serve their purposes and are great. I love to watch a good storm as much as I like to see a pretty sunrise/sunset. :) I bet your flowers are beautiful.

    Have a blessed day!

  14. What a wonderful list of things to be thankful for, Paula, and yes, we need both rain and sun, so it's quite all right to be thankful for both!

  15. Hey Paula,
Hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day! Love your gratitude list. I agree with your #1: I too thank God for my brain and ability to see the truth. I just can't believe that so many others can't!!! It's making me crazy! I'm obsessed with politics right now and, like a train wreck, I just can't seem to turn away. And I have to say, I thank God for Rachel Maddow too! :)
But I'm not just bitching: I spent the other morning sending letters to senators and representatives and even calling a few offices in Washington. Lord knows what tomorrow will bring...

Hope you're well and enjoying this new week...

    1. Thank you Michele. Mother's Day was good. I'm kind of obsessed with the goings on from the political world right now too. I write to mine too. And tell them their time in office is short, I hope. They are all Republicans!
