It's been awhile since we had a question here. Not that I have no questions!! Oh, no I have plenty of questions! I feel like there isn't any such thing as a 'stupid question' just a question that hasn't been asked. And we learn so much by asking, don't we?
Today...I wonder if you have all heard, on the news, what Oprah has said about running for President of the United States! What do you think? Would you vote for her?
I have not heard this. I have never watched her show. I would not consider voting for her. JMO.
ReplyDeleteIt's all over the news. I don't think she is serious. But, hey, I didn't think Donald Trump was either!!
DeleteHa. I spend my days watching PBS kids.
DeleteI used to do that~!!!! No more Thank goodness!
DeleteI could vote for her. She isn't running.
ReplyDeleteI used to really like her. And then she got so sanctimonious~
DeleteI just saw a headline about Oprah and running for presidency. Didn't catch too much about it. I don't know if I would vote for her or not. I would have to see what her platform was. If it matched what I thought would be good for the US, I might just so vote for her :)
ReplyDeletebetty
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't vote for her!
DeleteOh no, no, noooooo!
ReplyDeleteHope it's only gossip!
DeleteFun question. I suppose she's as qualified as Trump.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably true!
DeleteI think she is as, or more qualified than our current president. I have a lot of respect for her business abilities and I think she is basically an honest person. Can't say the same for Trump. Wish she had been running against him!
ReplyDeleteI just don't really like her. I did at one time. Then she got so full of herself!! I hope she doesn't run but we'll see
DeleteI did see that story--or at least the tease for the story (I don't generally watch the news). I don't see myself voting for her. I won't say it's a definite no, but right now I can't see her bringing anything new to the job.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she will know anymore about running this country than our current president. And we see what kind of mess is going on right now!
DeleteI doubt very seriously that I would vote for her, for a similar reason as to why I never seriously considered voting for Trump. I did not consider Trump, because early on I ran across an interview where he couldn't say he had ever needed forgiveness: and they were talking about his "Christian" faith! I cross checked it nine ways till Sunday and it came up the same. As for Operah, I stopped watching or listening to her back in the 80's when she'd repeatedly say the mantra that God was love. As in He is love and nothing else. Not Righteous, not Holy, etc. Between the two of them, they manage to negate the purpose of Christ's sinless life and sacrificial death on the cross.

I can't add a thing to this! right on!!!!
DeleteOprah? Seriously? What's wrong with someone who's come up from grass root levels and actually understands the political system and has a proven track record? I don't profess to understanding your system but it definitely seems that being extremely well known and rich helps.
ReplyDeleteHeck, I don't understand our system. And Donald Trump certainly doesn't either!! In my opinion!
DeleteI guess it would depend on who she was running against. How can we say we would or wouldn't vote for her until we know all the facts?
ReplyDeleteI can say! :) I simply don't like her. I wouldn't vote for someone I don't like!!
DeleteNo. Governing is a different animal from running a business ... even if it is a huge one.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Elaine!
DeleteI have no idea if I would vote for her. Right now I think no but it would depend on her agenda and also who's running against her.
ReplyDeleteI'm just hoping she is just joking! I don't think I could take another TV star!
DeleteAnyone who would vote for her would vote for Whoopi or Al Sharpton. Nope no vote for her here
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that is really true!
Deletewell Chuck - I wouldn't vote for Al Sharpton - but I might vote for Whoopi! Maybe even before I'd vote for Oprah... I used to like Oprah - back when I first started watching her show - and then for years after I kept watching it. But then something changed with her - and I just can barely tolerate her anymore...
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Caroline Kennedy run.
Linda in VA
Caroline Kennedy might be the better choice for the party. But first I like what i am seeing right now over what I have seen for 12 years
DeleteI wouldn't vote to either of them. Whoopi has been such a radical lately! I'm not sure her head would be in the right spot to unite this country. Caroline Kennedy would be a good choice!!
DeleteTo Chuck: if you think what we are seeing now is good (the country more divided than we have ever been, the Russians more interested than they have ever been).....
DeleteI do
DeleteSad!
DeleteI'd have to see who she was up against. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey, are you going to do the A to Z Blogging Challenge this year? I think that's where I learned about your blog. I didn't do it last year but I'm going to this year. Hope to see you there!
I can't make up my mind. My heart is not into it!!
DeleteI can't even think about another election right now. I'm still trying to get over the one we just went through! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteI am the same!! The current results are causing me much stress and distress! Hard to even consider another one!
DeleteProbably not but I would vote for Caroline Kennedy :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would too!!
DeleteI would vote for her if I knew what her issues were. I don't vote for someone, just because they are someone's brother or sister or whatever. I mean, how dumb is that? I would treat her like all others and see what she is about.
ReplyDeleteI used to LOVE Oprah - but throughout the years, I no longer watch her anymore. The old, outta sight, outta mind. I would need to get to know the Professional, political Oprah and what her thoughts are, on fixing this nation.
Yes, that is a dumb reason to pick someone to vote for. But not everyone is a GOOD person to vote for either. I want my President to have experience in government. This president is showing us how important that is. He has no idea what he is doing. And it sounds like he doesn't want people to tell him how!
