The Ramblings of a Former Caregiver
What shall I bake? What decorations shall I put out this year? Do I have more shopping to do? Will I get it all done? And then it is the 26th and I realize that no one but me cares about much of this. We are just glad to be together.
Isn't that the truth. I put up the tree for my family. But do they really care? I doubt it! But I care! So I guess I am putting up the tree for me!! And I love it!
Only two days left of the week, and I have decided we will spend one day this weekend baking cookies for Dan and Joe, who turned the heat back on.
YAY for Dan and Joe. I agree they deserve to have some cookies. I am glad you have heat back. It was in the 20's here last night. Would have been very cold without heat!
Where did this year go and how can it be December already? That's my thought, LOL :) My agenda is going to be about the same as it is most weeks. Just usual routines, putting up the tree Saturday, maybe a bit more decorating. I'm taking a day off from work later in the month and will "wrap" up my shopping then :)betty
I think continuing on with the routine is the best way to get through most months, Betty! I'll be doing a bit more decorating that I normally do. And a bit more baking! Yep, can't wait for some baking!
It's December so time to get the Christmas tree and decorations down from the loft. And get my cards written!
I don't think I will do cards this year. Postage is so expensive here!
Oy! Well, tomorrow's our 4Q Board and Annual Owners Meeting at work... will be SO glad to have that off my plate! 'Must decide whether or not there will be Christmas decor on Ashley Dr. this year and hopefully, conclude my shopping list. #1 son's 47th birthday (yikes!) is the 12th. I've already scored his gift, but he's (sincerely) asked for a funny card. Am I just growing old, or are greeting cards really moronic of late? (Trying really hard not to worry, because it's not like Troy to request something so off-the-wall.)
Richard's dad's birthday was on the 12th! That is so cute that he asked for a funny card. Good luck with finding one for him!
Usually about now I've finished my Christmas knitting and am sailing through the month. This year I've done nothing. I'm going to pretend it's September, I think.
LOL! Good luck with pretending! I wonder if that will help!
I consider next week the first week. Christmas is not my "happy time" of the year. I am working on Christmas Cards and I am almost done, and I have three more packages to get ready to mail. I have a Christmas party next week, and have yet to find out what I am in charge of. Maybe I will call the person in charge tomorrow. No rush:)
I have found that Christmas is NOT most peoples happy time. It's not mine either. I try to make it happy for the family though. Have a good weekend!
We have been so busy that I have barely noticed that it is already December. I need to get this house decorated by next weekend when Santa comes to have lunch with all the littles in our family.
Better get started my friend!!
Sorting through all my Christmas Decorations this week. Found lots to donate and give away! Hard to wrap my mind around December. I agree, where did the year go?
I did the same thing this week. But I didn't get rid of anything. Maybe next year!!
Where has this year gone. On December 5 a year ago I packed up and headed south on a new adventurer to my life. Must be working as I just had one of the best medical checkups since I retired
WOW! I can't believe it has been a year!! Glad to hear that Louisiana is agreeing with your health!
Only to get the house decorated and get a good start on my Christmas shopping!
That sounds like what most of us are doing!! Have a great weekend Jeanette!
I love to hear what you might think. Leave me a comment. I guarantee though that I will delete your comment if you are just here to cause trouble. So tread lightly!
