Thankful Thursday's Question
I don't know about you but I am exhausted. Tired of all the election crap. It was brutal! But when I look back I realize that most of these election years are brutal. They sling insults, lies, and treat each other horribly. And who are the ones who suffer?? We, the people. It is way past time for this country to try to close the divide. Can we?? My candidate didn't win. But I will strive to support the one who did win. I can do that with dignity. I wonder if the winners can accept their win, with dignity. It's going to take both sides to Make America Great Again.
Now enough of that! It is November! This is the month where we express our gratefulness. Give thanks for what we have. Thank those who surround us for being in our lives. I am very thankful for having a good, solid, (completely paid for) roof over my head. I am thankful we have more than enough food to eat. I am thankful for having a car that will get me to and fro (most of the time). I am thankful that I am healthy and that my family is healthy. I am thankful for the family that surrounds me. And loves me. Even when I don't agree with them!!
What are you thankful for??

I am thankful to God for a life filled with abundance :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a good thing to be thankful for!! We are all much more blessed than we think we are!
DeleteI am thankful that I'm retired never have to run for election again. My last election in 2004 was brutal and nasty. I think that is just what America wants to see. It is very unfortunate. Most of all I am thankful for my family and my health.
ReplyDeleteI just don't really want to believe that American's want to see nasty elections. But how would I know. We have never seen a good one in my lifetime. I'm thankful you won't have to run again either!!
DeleteI am thankful for many things, but the one that comes so easily to mind is my gratitude that GN survived her accident. It hasn't been a year yet.
ReplyDeleteYes, most assuredly being thankful that GN survived. And is recovering!!
DeleteWell, the first thing that came to my head was that I was thankful we don't have to see any more political ads! But really the most important things I am thankful for are my health, my family, my friends and every day that I am given!
ReplyDeleteGood things to be thankful for my friend!
DeleteI'm pretty much thankful for what you are thankful for Paula, except our house is not paid off but we have a low mortgage payment. Also thank for God and his faithfulness and provision to me and my family :)
ReplyDeleteSo thankful too that the election is over. Tense filled it was indeed!
betty
Yes, thankful for the election being over too. Although there is still much tension out there. I am trying to remain positive!
DeleteWow. There's so much I've been given ... and for which I've failed to say 'thank you.' Too long I've spent staring at closed doors.
ReplyDeleteIn short, I'm amazed at having renewed feeling of optimism ... life in general. It's been a long time.
Funny! I feel just the opposite!
DeleteHi Paula - couldn't have said it better ... we need compassion and better understanding ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWe do!! I'm working on it
DeleteI started a thankful list on my blog several years ago. There is always something to be thankful for every day, not just in November. Today I'm thankful for our Veterans.
ReplyDeleteYou are right! Every single day
DeleteI'm thankful for... Oh, I'm going to have to think about this. It shouldn't be hard, but at the moment...
ReplyDeleteLOL! I get it!!
DeleteSo much! I'm thankful that our small but warm apartment surpassed my expectations. I'm thankful for supportive people helping us here. I'm thankful we have wifi so I can worship at a distance, from a church in America (watch/read the previous week). I'm thankful for a continuous abundance of food. I'm thankful for our relative health, and for small mercies every day.
ReplyDeleteEvery day, I am thankful for the most wonderful husband I could never have hoped for in my wildest dreams, and for that and so many other things, I am thankful that, when I ask God for one thing, he says, "Oh, I have something better in mind for you. Hold on tight!"
I am thankful that your move is going so well. I hope to keep hearing more about China through your posts. I, too, had a wonderful husband to be thankful for. I think God DID have something better in mind for me. The second time I was blessed.
DeleteI, too was glad it was over....now I just wish people would let it be over and quit going on and on and on and on......
