Today we are going to pretend.
Let's pretend we are in charge of making the rules for society to follow.
Rules that will make us all better people.
Rules that will help our children and grandchildren grow into loving, caring, productive people in this world.
Something that might actually help change the way things are today.
So here's the question...
What rule would you come up with that would make this a better world to live in???
I'll start, okay?
My rule would be:
Let go of the past. We can't change it. But we can change the future.
What happened in the past can only help us to not repeat those mistakes.
Now, it is your turn.
Share your rule in the comments!!
Always be kind to one another.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great rule!!
DeleteHi Paula - respect others ... learn about them - appreciate their lives ...
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts though - cheers Hilary
Yes, respect seems to be missing from a lot of people's interactions now days!
DeleteBe kind.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes!!
DeleteThey try to live by that rule in Wayward Pines. Unfortunately, things aren't going so well... (Have you see the show? It's an interesting one.)
ReplyDeleteI think the one rule I would make would be something about not interfering in things that have nothing to do with you, with only an exception made for things done that might harm others. Although, that's a hard one to phrase.
Otherwise, keep your nose out of other people business unless they need your help. No, I don't know Wayward Pines???
DeleteTreat others as you would want yourself to be treated and love others as you would want yourself to be loved.
ReplyDeleteAll great rules I'm reading from other comments :)
betty
Isn't that one of the best rules of all time? Treat others the way you want to be treated!!
DeleteRespect each other and be kind.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteGreat idea Paula and some great suggestions here in the comments. I would have echoed your rule. We need to learn lessons from the past but not dwell on it.
ReplyDeleteYes we do. Think of how far we could go in this world if people could just stop living in the past!!
DeleteRule number 1: there is no race but the human race. We all belong to each other. We all are part of a human successful family. You teach your children that. You don't agree or don't participate appropriately, you get reassigned to be a slug!
ReplyDeleteRule number 2-100: see rule number one.
LOL! I would like to reassign some people to be a slug!!
DeleteI think we only need one rule....BE NICE....If we were all nice to each other there would be no violence, no theft, no cheating...
ReplyDeleteIf we only had one rule then we would probably have to define that rule for every situation! You know how people are!
DeleteLove one another, it's as easy and simple as that...and take life one moment at a time. Give thanks always.
ReplyDeleteIt is simple and yet it is so hard to do!!
DeleteDarn, Betty beat me to the punch. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we sometimes question her decisions, my boss is quick to reminds us: "Treat others the way you want to be treated."
Ha! Ha! Your boss got you there, didn't she?
DeleteKindness is key, in my opinion. I think it should be a rule that people do at least three kind things every day...that includes being kind to others, to animals and to yourself. If more people had a kind mindset, we might be a whole lot better off.
ReplyDeleteGreat question!
Michele at Angels Bark
Three kinds things a day! That is my goal!! Thanks Michele!
DeleteHave you pets spayed or neutered. Pick up after your dog. :)
