Thursday's are one day closer to the weekend. If you are looking forward to the weekend I thought I would tell you that!
In this day and age of everything digital, do you ever print out your pictures? Or do they sit in your camera, phone, or computer????
Inquiring minds want to know!
Most of mine do stay digitalised and I do worry that they will be lost forever if my computer crashes. Luckily when the children were younger, we always used a normal camera so we do have quite a few photos in albums. We were really sad when a DVD of our DD in a play got corrupted and no longer works but at least we got to see her on stage and those memories will remain with us :)
ReplyDeleteYou should upload them to an online photo site so you will have them if your computer crashes!! I need to do that too!!
DeleteI print out some, usually just on regular paper. When I have to have some danged medical procedure, I print out a quick snapshot of my dog and laminate it and take it with me to hold!
ReplyDeleteWe call Thursday "Friday Eve" at work. That tells ya something about how anxious we are for the weekend!
I like that...Friday Eve! When I worked I worked every other weekend so Friday wasn't always Friday, if you know what I mean
DeleteI print out pictures occasionally, if I'm going to put them in a frame. At Christmas I printed out 9 pictures of my dogs over the years for Christmas ornaments for the tree. I find that I have less picture frames sitting around because I have a digital picture frame that presents all my photos without the clutter of frames.

I have thought about one of those digital frames!
DeleteI leave mine on my phone. I have a lot on Facebook as well. I need to get a sd card for my phone so I can print my photos out so I can delete the ones I have and make more room for more. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI rarely post a photo on Facebook. Facebook usually just ticks me off. I erase them off my phone as soon as I download them to the computer
DeleteExcept for the grands' annual photos their parents give us at Christmas, I can't remember our last 'paper' photograph! My father would be in awe!
ReplyDelete'Doesn't seem that long ago we'd be on pins and needles waiting for Keaton Kolor to call saying our prints were ready to be picked up.
I remember Richard taking bags full of film in to be developed. And then we'd spend hours pouring over the pictures when he brought them home. The digital age just baffled him
DeleteI print a photo now and then just to send to my mother. My photos are not on my computer or phone or camera. I save everything on thumb drives (flash drives) I save by subject, year, and holiday if that applies). During the time between Christmas and New Year's Day, one of my self-imposed chores that week is to go through the files and delete what I don't think is important enough to save. That means most scenery goes. I do have to print one of GN soon, however. She asked me to take her Senior photo and I did. She liked the results and chose one to send to the yearbook committee. Because I took the photo, there will be no prints from studio. That means I'm up to bat, so I will be printing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a good system for saving pictures! And how special it is that you took GN's senior picture!
DeleteI don't print many pictures because I share them through social media.
ReplyDeleteI do too!
DeleteMostly I take pictures of my knitting. And most of those go on my blog or my Ravelry page (usually both). I don't really feel like I need physical copies of those.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of pictures that I don't need copies of as well. And I surely don't need hundreds of the kids!
DeleteI haven't printed a picture in years and I really need to back up my pictures on one of those sticks; if something happens to this computer, I would lose a lot of pictures. Sure has changed though, hasn't it? Remember taking rolls of film in, getting them developed, even getting double prints and then sharing with friends and family?
ReplyDelete(saddens me you might not do A/Z, but I get it if you can't get excited about a theme; I'm probably silly to do it with moving a week before it starts, but my intent is to have everything written by then.)
betty
I know! I am sad too about A to Z! I am not busy at all and have plenty of time. I just can't get excited. But, who knows!!
DeleteI only print out pics of my grandson on a rare occasion. A friend is talking about having a photo book made up of all our Russian trip photos. While I have photos printed of past trips, I rarely look at the albums.
ReplyDeleteI know! I have thousands of printed pictures and I haven't sat and looked at them in years either.
Deletethey sit in my phone, and on my computer.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
DeleteMost of ours are on my phone or PC now but the vast majority are backed up on a portable hard drive. We seldom print them but I did get a wedding album done for my son't wedding - I uploaded them to a site that prepared the book for you. I have to get one done from my daughter's wedding but I need to borrow her CD from the photographer. I am working (slowly) on organising my old proper photos into albums etc and then I do want to get some of the digital ones printed. It's lovely to be able to look back at photos. We've had a great time recently looking back over my mother-in-laws photos. The kids especially enjoy it and it's something the digital age is not great for.
ReplyDeleteMine are backed up on a portable hard drive too. Learned that lesson the hard way once!! I really need to get interested in organizing all my pictures. When Richard died I quickly went through all of the pictures to get ones for the memorial service. That was a hard enough job. Need to get all the 'keepers' online!
DeleteI leave mine on my phone for a while, then I transfer then to my computer and then to a little zip drive for storage. Once in a while I download one to the local Walgreens and have a photo printed for a frame. They do a very nice job and lots less expensive than printing them myself!
ReplyDeleteI have never used the Walgreens service. I should look into that!
DeleteI have mine saved to my simple save back ups and some are on disc. I made it a resolution to get some printed out of the Grands and I should do that soon! I do print out a few just for me:)
ReplyDeleteI need to print some and frame them too!
