The Ramblings of a Former Caregiver
We say it #1, but however it is said, it is my favorite nut :)betty
Mine too Betty!!
I say it like number 2, I love pecans.
Me too Denise!
Ha! Good question!! I am Canadian and we say #1 but my American sister-in -law insists that it is #2 as #1 is what you keep under the bed!!
LOL! Thanks for my laugh for today!!
Where I'm from we say it the first way and I always used to say that until I moved to Texas and everyone laughed at me for saying it that way. So now I've just gotten used to saying it the second way. This is a hot topic of debate for sure!Michele at Angels Bark
LOL! A hot topic!
This always reminds me of When Harry met Sally. LOL
I didn't see it Wendy! Why does it remind you of that?
I say a combination of both!
That is interesting!
I say #2 and Officer Friendly said #1. It's my favorite nut. Wish they weren't so expensive!
I know. I leave them out of most of my Christmas cooking because of the expense. Plus, Justin doesn't like nuts in anything!!
We say it the second way listed here in Texas.
We do in Kansas as well!
On the gulf coast of Mississippi, I learned to say "pi-khans". Love them. Have them on a salad literally 5 days a week. Also, my childhood home was in Pecan Park (a neighborhood that used to be part of a pecan orchard). Another interesting point--after 1969, when Hurricane Camille wiped out my town, the trees in that same pecan orchard never dropped pecans again. Sad.
That is sad Lisa. And thank you for sharing all this wonderful info about you! Pecans on a salad. That sounds very good
We say it the first way.
I think this is another regional thing!
I've always pronounced it the second way. Whatever one says, I love 'em!
Me too, me too!!
I love to hear what you might think. Leave me a comment. I guarantee though that I will delete your comment if you are just here to cause trouble. So tread lightly!
