The Ramblings of a Former Caregiver
Looks like a fun time!
We actually did have fun!
How can anyone see Harley's beaming face and not grin right back at the monitor! All these pictures are great, Paula. My personal fav is you n' Darian in the lower right.
Where we are telling secrets!! She had a blast! We all did!
A nice end to summer.
Yes it was Joanne. Now off to school on Thursday!!
She'll be driving age before you know it.
I'll try to keep her from it for as long as I can!!!! LOL! Darian still doesn't drive. We aren't in a big hurry. Read that to mean me!
Looks like the perfect day...pretty soon you won't have a choice. It will be time for her to drive. Just hold on and close your eyes....it worked for me LOL
Richard did all the driving with our boys. It's not just a matter of holding on and closing my eyes. It is more about the cost of insurance, cars, wrecks, and etc!
Oh glad you guys did it! Looked like lots of fun!!!!betty
We did have a good time. And today it is in the past. Darian has gone to a debate activity and Harley has returned to being a snarky teenage girl. But we have the memories. LOL
What a beautiful young woman and a handsome young man - and I LOVE that they are so great together. When my kids were little I always used to tell them when they would argue like siblings will do - just remember, when your parents are gone - you two will be the only close family you have. Haha! Sounds like something terrible to tell children, but now as adults they are friends and would do anything for each other. And they love to tell people now - guess what mom used to always tell us ... haha... but they also realize the reality of it now ... especially after my mom died and it was just my sister and I left in that generation of family. You, grandma Paula, are doing the very best for these two young adults and don't think for a minute that they won't remember that years from now. Kids see and remember everything. Love the pictures.
I tell them that "blood is thicker than water". They are very protective of each other. He took care of her the first 8 years of her life. Now she just annoys him. And him her! But I have no doubts they will always be close.
Looks like you all enjoyed your outing to the park very much!
We did! It had been years since we've done something like this.
I'm so glad you're having fun with your family.
I try. Sometimes we have to create the fun ourselves!
YAY!!! The picnic was a Hit! Looks like so much fun and the smiles speak volumes. Now you have to tell us what was on the picnic menu. I love picnics and have 2 picnic baskets that I need to wipe the dust off. Hope they have a great day at school!
Yes, the picnic was a hit. You never know how things will be when it involves two teenagers. But they were willing. And they actually had a good time. Darian had to check his phone often, but that was okay with me. We had a variety of foods for our menu. We just stopped at the Deli and each of us picked. Darian had a meatball sub and chips, Harley a sub and chips and I picked some spring rolls and dumplings with peanut sauce dip and pear sauce dip. Yummy! Grapes for dessert!
Dumplings sound awesome!! Let me guess , your deli is at Dillon's? I loved shopping at Dillons when I was in Kansas. They seriously had the best cinnamon rolls with glaze from the bakery I've ever had. They were huge! Oh my , mouth is watering just thinking about them.
I love to hear what you might think. Leave me a comment. I guarantee though that I will delete your comment if you are just here to cause trouble. So tread lightly!
