Friday Letters

Dear Friday: Honestly I love you Friday! But would you please stop coming around so often. I feel like July is slipping through my fingers so fast. Soon it will be August and time to do back-to=school planning, buying supplies, enrollment fees and all that stuff. Darian will be a Senior. Yikes!! And Harley a sophomore.

Dear Grass: I need to ask you to slow down your growth just a bit. I refuse to mow more than once a week.

Dear Office Max: Oh how I love you! Let me count the ways. I have always loved school supplies, paper products, office things. I could spend hours looking through your shelves and aisles. I enjoyed my visit with you today. I'll be back soon. Because I purchased the wrong size address labels. I wanted the tiny ones that go in the return spot on the envelope. I purchased the bigger size. I hope they'll take them back since they were on clearance.

Dear Mom Nature: Okay, Okay! I'll stop complaining about the heat. Just don't get angry anymore and send those scary tornado clouds to intimidate me. It worked!!

Dear Faithful Blogging Friends: I love you all and thank you so much for all the loving support you have always given to me. I am coming upon the one year anniversary of Richard's death and I feel some grief posts coming on. Please hang in there with me. I will get through this and come out on the brighter side. I promise.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love office supplies and can barely leave a department store without at least gazing with unbridled longing at the pens and notebooks. It's kind of a joke to my family.

Of course we're here for you. I don't care if it's a hundred posts on grief. This is your space to express whatever you need to.

Hugs, icy drinks, and chocolate sent your way...

  2. I know what you mean about the grass; the lawn would do that in Montana during the spring. Good exercise to cut it, but not more than weekly :) This summer is going by really fast; the school supply lists are already here at the store. I think it is good that you do continue to write about grief. It is hard to get through, but expressing feelings does help I think.

  3. I too really enjoy Office Max! The thing I like is notebooks. I have them for everything. I wish for you cooler days, no wind and an extra dose of comfort and peace from God as you hear Richard's one year date.

  6. Hope you get to exchange or return the wrong labels. Write whatever you need to on your blog. It's your blog. I'm with you on how fast the summer seems to be going. We've passed the halfway mark of July already! Yikes! Take care as this first year without Richard winds down.mYou are in my thoughts.

    1. I decided to keep those labels and get some other sticker labels to use!! Is that a compromise? Thank you Gram. You know exactly what I am going through here, don't you?

    4. I am not surprised. There is a lot of sadness in losing a loved one. The good news is we don't lose the love. You are in my thoughts.

  8. You've re-awakened a neat memory ... shopping for back-to-school supplies. I don't catch it so much anymore, but I used to love the aroma of fresh paper and pencils.

Yes, your awful anniversary has been on my mind. I hope you'll pen what's on your mind and in your heart. Hugs!

  9. Oh, I agree. Summer is flying past -- where has it gone? We've had a lot of rain in Southern New Jersey and the grass grows, well ... like a weed! I told my friend that all I need are a couple of monkeys in my trees and I'd have a Brazilian rain forest in my back yard.

  10. This year my birthday falls on a Friday. In 2 Fridays, to be exact.

Of course the 1 year anniversary is going to be hard. That's what the blog is for, right? To give you an outlet so that you don't drown in it.

    1. I will be looking forward to your birthday...in 2 Fridays! Not originally, this blog was just a place to share my thoughts with family and friends. Then it became a place to vent my frustrations with being a caregiver with little relief. And now it has become a place to try not to drown in my grief!

  11. This blogger friend isn't going anywhere. So glad to have met you in BlogLand. I feel the same way about the summer. It seems there's so little left. Now that BlogHer is over I'm refocusing on summer goals and simply enjoying the long days. Here's to iced coffee and friends!
