For Today...
Today is Monday, June 15, 2015. Half way through the month of June.
Outside my window...
Outside my window is a cloudy, steamy day. It is 80* and with all of the rain we have had the past few days it makes it very humid. Yesterday we could actually see the steam coming off the roof and the driveway. Very eerie looking!
I am thinking...
I am thinking about all the things I should be doing and how I should NOT be sitting here at my computer writing. But then it is so easy to tell myself that it is okay. And it is okay!
I am thankful...

I am wearing...
I am wearing a purple tee shirt and black yoga pants. I think I type the same thing every week. This is what I wear all the time when I am home. And most of the time when I am not at home. So there!
I am creating...
I am creating this wonderful Daybook entry and my weekly menu. And I am happy to do so.
I am going...
I am going to go away for a little bit. I need to load the dishwasher and switch out the laundry. You can wait right here, if you would like. Help yourself to a glass of iced tea. Lemons are in the basket on the dining room table. Be right back.....
I am wondering...
I was wondering what time I would have to drive across town to pick up Darian when he walked in the front door. They were working in our part of town today so his boss dropped him off. That was a very nice thing to do for this taxi-driving granny! And Darian is happy to have gotten off work a bit early.
I am reading...
I am still reading The American Sniper, by Chris Kyle. It is invoking a variety of emotions. When I am finished I will review it here for you.
I am hoping...
I am hoping for another wonderful week on my walk towards just moving forward. It feels good and it feels right. I am moving forward.
In my kitchen...
Monday...Leftover Day
Tuesday...Salmon steaks and Salad
Wednesday...Hamburgers and French Fries
Thursday...Harley's Hamburger Helper Day!!
Friday...Shrimp Pasta salad (this has been on the menu for 3 weeks. Maybe today will be the day)
Saturday...Lasagna
Sunday...Cream Cheese Chicken (another of those that keeps getting moved for another take-out dish)
A favorite quote for today...
And this is My Life!
One of my favorite things...

From the board room...
This picture comes from my "Outdoors" board on my Pinterest. I love the look of hostas in pots. Go here to DIY and Crafts Magazine to find 15 Excellent Backyard Decorations. I love flowers planted in the old tire too. I'll have to rummage around and see if we have an old tire outside.
Post Script
This week for my PS I am going to tell you about a gift I won from my friend Wendy's Blogging party "Hot Summer Eats." I was so surprised to receive an email from Camilla, the host of the Blog Party. I have won a gift from a company called NOT KETCHUP. It arrived in the mail on Saturday. Not one, not two, but four full size bottles of Not Ketchup. Can't wait to try them. My variety consists of: Cherry Chipotle, Blueberry White Pepper, Spiced Fig, and Smokey Date. Don't they sound tasty? The box came with recipe cards for each bottle. An idea on how to use that Not Ketchup. Can't wait to try them. I'll let you know how they taste. In the meantime you can check them out here.....Not Ketchup. I am going to try it first this week with my Salmon and use the Cherry Chipotle sauce. My mouth is watering. How about yours?
I will be linking up with Peggy at The Simple Woman's Blog. Won't you join us?

We keep having heat and big overnight storms. Hope they move on, soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too Joanne. Then I am sure in August we will be begging for some of it to come back
DeleteWe have had lots of rain here too... ready for it to be done! What a wonderful surprise to hear you won a blog giveaway! Let me know how those "not ketchup" are!! Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI will Jodi. I am very excited. I am not usually one who wins things. And this month I won 2!!
DeleteThe hostas look very pretty in the pots. Great idea! Wonder what you do with them over winter? Oh my goodness! The flavors of the Not Ketchup sound tasty! Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI would have to move them into the garage I'm sure. I am trying to stay cool here!
DeleteThe quote you've shared today says so much about you, Paula. I remember a year or so ago when we first "met" and how hard life was for you as you began the adjustment without your dear husband. God has given you the strength to come a long way since then. You are a blessing, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI thought when I found that quote on Pinterest, Dianna, that it must have been meant for me to find. I do feel somewhat stronger now than a year ago! Thank you for your kind words
DeleteWe've had quite a lot of June gloom, but the sun came out today. I wouldn't mind a bit of rain.
ReplyDeleteOur sun came out this afternoon. I hope it is here to stay. I will pray for rain to find you Liz!
DeleteLove hearing you're looking forward to more days spent moving ahead!
ReplyDeleteI'm not especially fond of citrus, but love squirting lemon or lime juice in my water bottle. Come to think of it, lemons are so pretty to look at, I should just buy several and set out on the island.
I'm going to have to run over and check out that "Not Ketchup" website. What a great gifting idea!
You are so right Myra...they would be great for gifting. Something new and different. Tonight is salmon night so I'll let you know.
DeleteThat is cool about your winning! Sounds delicious with those Not Ketchups! Do let us know how it turns out with the salmon! I always like to put a lemon down the garbage disposal occasionally, makes it smell really nice :)
ReplyDeletebetty
I like doing that too Betty! Or oranges.
DeleteI hear you on the rain! It's been raining for 2 days now...It's time to dry out for a while, see the sun again. (Although I can do without the humidity and heat...) I'm really into lemons right now - lemon in my water, lemon desserts, lemonade...Perhaps because it's summer? LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the taste of lemon desserts too. I'm not much into lemonade though!
DeleteHostas in pots. Why didn't I think of that? With over 130 plants in the garden, I think I'll get some dirt and throw some in pots for the deck. Way cheaper than going to the nursery for annuals. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they will be beautiful. I have never thought of putting them in pots either.
DeleteFeel free to send that rain our way. Rain is a blessing out here in the high desert. Although, to be fair, being in an El Nino year is awesome! We've had more rain and cooler temps by far than last year. But a little more never hurts.....Just wanted to say, you sound great :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I think about you often!
DeleteIt's been up in the upper 80s and 90s here with horrible humidity. Yuck. Raining all week here too. But nice on weekend 90s. Its almost summmer but i am feeling were going to have a hot one.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning. I will have to check out the not ketchup. I love cooking with lemon and its a good cleaner too. Have a great week.
I love lemon too! My favorite of the citrus family. But I am crazy about oranges and grapefruit as well Hope you have a great week.
DeleteI like this Simple Woman's Daybook. It looks like so much fun to do. I am encouranged by the way you are moving forward.
ReplyDeleteThank you Inger. It hasn't been an easy year for me but I am moving forward. And I know that you can as well. I am here for you if you need me!!
DeleteI am so glad that you won Paula. I have tried 3 of the 4 and my favorite was the cherry chipotle with the blueberry close on it's heels.
ReplyDeleteWe had the Cherry Chipotle tonight with our salmon steaks and it was great! I am going to put some on some left over green beans now for my bedtime snack!
DeleteI love reading your Daybook entries Paula. It's so nice to get to know someone through these posts. And I'm right there with ya on the yoga pants. I never get truly dressed unless I have to these days. i work at home and if no one is coming over, why add to the laundry basket just for the sake of getting dressed! Ha! Seriously, it's too dang hot to get dressed right now. I'm wandering around my house in a long tshirt. Thankfully I have a plethora of those... :)
ReplyDeleteMichele at Angels Bark
Thanks Michele! Those yoga pants just fit the bill don't they?
DeleteWe got another good dosing of rain from Bill. Should be improving today. We'll see. How was the salmon?
ReplyDeleteI Saw it on Facebook @ Life & Faith in Caneyhead.
The salmon was great! I will use the Not Ketchup again. It's dreary here today but so far no rain.
DeleteWe are getting lots of rain too here in Dallas. I don't mind it because its helped keep the temps from getting too hot.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning those Not ketchups!!! You are a lucky lay. Didn't you win some soaps or something recently? That cherry chipotle sounds very interesting.
Our temps aren't so hot but the humidity from all the rain is terrible. And the mosquitoes!!!!! No, I didn't win that soap. I was just showing what I had bought from them. I had reviewed their products in the past!
DeleteOur week here in Philadelphia started out hot and steamy and now on Thursday it is chilly and raining. It suits my mood today, dreary. I figured it was a good day to go A-Z roadtripping:)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your road trip. I am slowly making my way through the list!
