Every week I am so surprised that it is already Friday again. Maybe it is because I no longer work. You know when you work Friday is one of the best days of the week, because it is the last working day. But when you don't work everyday is like Friday!! Now with that being said let's get to the Friday Letters.

hot humidity! |
Dear Mother Nature: You are my favorite person to write to. You are on my list every single Friday. I am so thankful to you for all you do in my life. But I can do with a little less humidity. It is 80* sun-shiny degrees right now but that 62% humidity makes it pretty uncomfortable to be outside.
Dear Pretty Green Grass: I won't forget my appointment with you this afternoon. I am just waiting a bit to let all the "dew" evaporate before I fire up the tractor and come pay you a visit. You are tall thanks to the recent rains. Harley and I will be coming soon. She's going to 'man' the weed-eater today!

my dad |
Dear Father's Day Sunday: Not one of my favorite holidays, you know. I didn't have a lot of strong male role models in my young life. My daddy left this earth when I was only 7 and the years before he left weren't what childhood memories are made of. I didn't have a strong grandfather figure. He was browbeat by a strong grandmother. Mom remarried and brought to us a step-father who also wasn't the greatest role model. (Although I learned to respect him in his later years when he stepped up and took care of mom when she needed taking care of) I really never had strong uncle figures either. My first marriage wasn't to a strong man. But I am thankful my sons got to

experience a strong father figure in Richard. And I am thankful that Paige has a very strong, involved father and Darian and Harley have a father figure in my son Justin. So Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.
Dear Katie: Thank you so much for visiting your little brother and sister while you were home. You are very important to them and they need to see someone from that side of the family still cares for them. I am proud of the young woman you have become. See you again at Christmas.

Have a great weekend friends and family. Drink lots of water and find the shade. It looks like it will be a hot one!
Hot one here at about 93 degrees, but thankfully low humidity. It is amazing how fast Friday rolls around now compared to when I was younger, LOL. Still working, but its like I sit down at the computer desk to start work on Monday morning and suddenly it is Friday already. Scary sometimes how fast time flies.
ReplyDeletebetty
It is kind of scary, isn't it Betty, to know how fast time is passing by. We must use every single moment to the best of our ability.
DeleteOh, you hit the nail on the head about Friday meaning so much to those of us who work (outside the house). It sounds as if you're among the fortunate few who've learned to live in the moment!
ReplyDeleteThat green, green grass makes me want to throw off my shoes and shuffle-walk through the cool blades! Most of everyone's 'lawns' are just pebbles. It seems real grass (and precious water) is reserved for the many surrounding golf courses.
I remember Myra when I worked. I looked forward to my days off so much. And now that I have them all off I wonder what it was I was looking forward to LOL. When Justin was a boy he used to want a yard full of rocks so he wouldn't have to mow. Richard always told him he need to move to Phoenix!
DeleteTractor? Grass that tall?! Yikes! That humidity would have me down too. Sounds like a beautiful place though!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lawn tractor Katy. We do have a nice home here. Even though there are too many rooms and too much yard.
DeleteGosh your grand kids have grown.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a hot one here as well. I am not a big fan of summer but I would miss it if it was never experienced because I am a big fan of 4 seasons.
Yes, they have grown a lot Elaine. I love summer! I hate humidity.
DeleteWhat a nice photo of your dad! Did he work for the RR?nGreen grass here right nor. It's been raining since early morning. Sweet photo of the three siblings. They all have dimples!
ReplyDeleteNo, Gram, he worked in the oil fields. I never saw him in anything except for those striped overalls, however. Yep, about the only thing they have in common is their dimples.
DeleteHappy Friday Paula
ReplyDeleteSame to you Wendy! Have a great weekend!
DeleteThe humidity is the only thing I hate about where we live. Ugh! Earthly fathers come in all sorts of different types. Just like Mother's. There's everything from those that could almost achieve Sainthood to those that are just plain sorry. So glad you were blessed with a man who made you happy and knew how to love & raise children.
ReplyDeleteMy kids were very lucky to have a step-father like Richard. I know that one of them appreciated that very much!
DeleteSo sorry that Father's Day is a sore day for you. How did the grass mowing go?
ReplyDeleteGrass is all mowed. And Harley will use the weed-eater tomorrow! Yay for Harley
DeleteI haven't yet doe the Friday letters, but really like the style and think I need to get into doing it. Now hoping I can remember when Friday rolls around. I feel like I ask this a month or so back, but don't think I got an answer. Where do you sign up to do this. I've not seen the linky thingy, so how does it work? Love to trade you weather. 62% humidity sounds like heaven...we've had 92-100% daily for over a week. Finally yesterday it deep down a bit , short term though as it's currently 96% and it's just 7:30...we saw the sun yesterday for the first time in over a week. My flowers are drowning, poor things.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy! I think I answered your question once before but I'm not sure so I'll say it again...no linky! I used to put one up but just not enough people interested in doing Friday Letters at this time. If it garners enough interest I'll do it again. Otherwise just write your letters and let us know here in the comments. 92-100% humidity would mean it is raining...we have had a break from the rain. The air is just heavy!
