NATURE

You didn't forget to Fall Back did you?

The best thing about

fall is the colors that are produced on the trees and the shrubs. In our backyard we have a very tall bald cypress that is my favorite in the spring when it first sprouts it's 'feathery' like leaves. And then when fall arrives it turns almost a bright orange. There are cones on the tree that the squirrels really like. We tried to dry them to use indoors (for decorating) but they just wither and disappear. Must be why I never see piles of them on the ground like we do pine cones in the front yard. The picture in the bottom
right of the collage is looking into my neighbors back yard. I am thankful for the wonderful bits of nature that we are lucky enough to have right in our own backyard.

  1. I did remember to fall back, Paula, enjoyed that sleeping in a bit too :)

Such pretty tree! That is interesting about the cones though! I do enjoy the changing of the seasons, though they aren't extreme here in San Diego :)

    1. It is a pretty tree. Not very strong. Easily broken if we have an ice storm. But a tree that is loved by our squirrels.

  3. We're getting blasted by snow today. At least 5 inches. I guess fall is over. And it's particularly early this year.

    1. Oh my word....I am glad we aren't getting snow here. It is back up to 55* tonight after being only 29* yesterday morning. I don't understand the weather this year at all

  4. How I wish we might experience more than 2 seasons! I love the burnt orange you've captured here ... the collage is great!
I guess it stems from growing up in the mountains, but Fall always leaves me feeling nostalgic. Heck, it was 93-degrees on Halloween!
Oh well, Arizona doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time, so I didn't forget to change the clocks - LOL!

  5. Fall is so full of color. I'm enjoying my neighbors large sumac tree. Not much in my yard yet.
