April Goals

Before I start on my challenge this month: The A To Z Blogging Challenge I must talk about how March went and let you all in on my hopes and goals for April.

Organize My Home

March

I didn't clean out any kitchen cabinets and that laundry room closet is still waiting on me.

April

I am determined that I am going to do this in April. And I mean it!!!

Freezer Cooking

March

Make waffles, quesadillas, and breakfast burritos for the freezer. Yes, I accomplished part of this. I made the quesadillas and the breakfast burritos and I also make Chicken wraps. Was nice to have something for the kids on weekends. I am keeping with the freezer cooking.

April

This month my goal is to make 3 casseroles for the freezer.

Set Up Family Budget

March

I worked more on my spreadsheet.

April

Continue to refine the spreadsheet I am liking this.
Also I have almost every bill now set up to pay online! Yay me!!

Use More Coupons

March

Upload more digital and use less paper. I am getting very good at this. I set up my grocery list on my Out of Milk app. And then I go to my grocery store app and see if they have any coupons for what's on my list and I load them to my shopping card. Awesome.

April

Continue right on with this!

Use My Savings Account More Wisely

March

I did work more on this. I learned how to add money to Darian and Harley's college accounts on-line and I have set up reminders. Yippee. I am becoming a techie! LOL

April

Add to my savings account this month as well as to the kid's accounts

Use Hospice Better

March

I called the nurse more often when I needed help with things like meds and advice and comfort.

April

Keep on keeping on!

Forgive Myself

April....I am not only forgiving myself but I am looking into taking a few days vacation all by myself. That will be a first for me.

Worry Less-Love More

April

If I can pull off the couple of days vacation that I am thinking about then I will be worrying less and loving myself more.

How are you coming with your goals? Isn't it easier to break them down into monthly goals?

  1. Yea that you'll have a chance to get away for a couple of days! That will do you so good! I took a couple days off from work last week and hubby was gone those 2 days at a job he was doing and it was just so relaxful to sit and read all day or play on the computer, whatever. You got great goals and you are working on them really good too! I should do more goal setting, but lack terribly in that arena of my life.

    1. I don't know that I am very good at it. I make them simple and then try to keep up.

  2. Wow! I must say that you are pretty planned out and systematic, which is something I must work upon.

  3. Oh I so hope that you are able to get away for a few days. You really deserve it. Where are you thinking of going?

    1. Probably somewhere close by so that I can get back quickly if I need to. Maybe a local bed and breakfast. I just want somewhere I can walk into a room, shut the door and shut out the world. Maybe lay in bed all day. Soak in a tub. Read. Sleep. Watch TV. And be all ALONE!

  4. Sounds like you are taking care of things. Good job on setting your accounts up and transferring money! I think a few days vacation all by yourself would do wonders for your soul.

    1. I think so too Cristy. But I am so afraid that two days away would be so wonderful that coming back to this would kill me....do you know what I mean?

  5. Really liked this post. I've been using Excel to work on our budget too. On the up side, there's nothing like moving for getting you to "clean house". My mantra is this.....If I haven't seen it, touched it, used it, or didn't even remember I have it, it goes out. Since 2007, we've moved FIVE times, so we're running pretty lean these day, which is NICE!

    1. Hello my friend: Maybe I should move so I can clean this place out. We have been in this house 26 years. So you can imagine the crap I have
