My word for this year is Hope! I was wandering around the internet today and discovered that right here, in my home state of Kansas, there is Hope. That's right. Hope, Kansas. The population is 361 so it is tiny. And the town's motto is "There Will Always Be Hope in Kansas."
This little Town was founded in 1871. It is located close to the town of Abilene. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library is located in Abilene.
I love that we have Hope in Kansas.
We have. Hope in Minnesota, too. It is a little unincorporated community just west of I35 and south of Owatonna. I doubt they have a motto, but there is a sign in the interstate that points to Hope. I love it! You can see it if you google Hope, Minnesota images. It's just a little Hope.
ReplyDeleteI will have to Goggle it GNG and add it to my list of "Hopes"
DeleteHope is a great word for the year! Glad there is hope in Kansas in more ways than another. Just googled; no Hope in California, which I guess doesn't really surprise me.

LOL Betty....we know there is Hope for California though!
DeleteHope, Maine, was founded in 1804. It's a quaint little town.
ReplyDeleteCool....I will add another Hope to my list
DeleteBelieve it or not, I have been to Hope KS. I was on a mission trip with my youth group in high school. Somewhere I have a picture with the town sign. I have also been to the largest ball of twine too.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! Now that is cool. I think I have a picture of Darian and Tucker in front of that large ball of twine I will have to look for it
DeleteWe loved Kansas (and the church we did VBS at) so much that we went a couple of times just to hang out with them. I am trying to think of the town we were in. I may have to message a few people that can help me with that.
