I hate those scam phone calls. They make me so angry.
ReplyDeleteMe too! and because they are recorded you can't even bang the phone down in their ear. Although with cell phones it is hard to do that anymore :)
DeleteTonight Microsoft will call you and tell you there is a problem with your operating system. My last Microsoft caller was a guy with a very thick Indian accent who told me his name was John. Right. Or maybe someone will have bought you an emergency call button and you just need to send information to pick it up... Yes, I hate those callers with a passion.
ReplyDeleteI agree....they are a pain. And it doesn't seem to matter if you are on a 'do not call list'
DeleteScammers make me so mad. I had an incident a couple of years ago where someone got my debit card number. A company name and website showed on my online bank statement so I looked it up. I couldn't do anything on the site unless I typed in my "transaction #" or if I didn't have that, which of course I didn't, typed in the number from the debit/credit card I used to make my transaction. No way. There was a toll free phone number listed that promised live 24-hour help. I called it and got a recording telling me to punch in my transaction # or my card# and they'd be happy to assist me. We ended up going to the bank canceling our cards, filing a report on the company and having to wait 2 weeks for new cards. Plus they got about $50 out of us. Such a pain....and we still have no idea how they got our card/account number.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same thing happen to our bank account through a web site. The entire bank account was cleaned out. Thank God I caught it while it was still in the processing stages and my bank immediately put a stop to it. But I had no access to my money in that bank account for almost 10 days while it was cleared up. The bank told me that it happens a LOT. They also told me that I should check my on-line account every day to make sure that the charges that are on there are ones that I have made. They said it is easier to deal with if they are still in the processing mode. I got all of my money back but it was a pain in the meantime.
DeleteI can't stand those kind of phone calls. 10?? You did go to bed early...I don't know what that feels like...haha. Man, I love peas. Nobody else in my house does, and my husband thinks they smell like dirty socks; so I don't get them often (usually when he goes out of town).
ReplyDeleteDirty socks? That is funny
