Sunday Stealing 2014

Here we are, once again, ready for a Sunday Stealing. This will be my 5th year of participating, although sometimes rather sporadically.

The Generic Meme

1.What did you want to be when you were little?

I remember going to the local grocery store, with my mom, when I was little. When we passed by the bakery,  a lady behind the counter would always ask me if I wanted a cookie. So, I wanted to grow up and be 'the cookie lady.

2.Would you prefer to have a large group of friends, or a small group of friends? And why?

I prefer a small group. I don't have the time, or the energy, to keep up with a large group. I am terrible, right now, even keeping up with a small group. My friends are mainly right here on my computer.

3.What is your fashion style? Or what is it that you wear on a daily basis?

Since I no longer leave the house to work, my style is very laid-back. I mostly wear yoga pants, sweat pants, and a tee shirt.

4.If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

I would live where it is warm 365 days out of the year. And near the water. With white sand.

5.What is your biggest hope for the next year?

I hope that I will handle this next year with grace.

6.When you pass by reflective surfaces, do you check yourself out.

Not as much as I used to before I gained this extra 50# (or more).

7.Favorite genre of music or TV show?

I like a variety of music. I would say that my FAVORITE is country classic. TV shows are crimes dramas. But my favorite one show is The Good Wife

8.Top Favorite books? Limit 5

I can't think of a single favorite. I like authors James Patterson and Jodi Picoult.

9.Have you ever taken a cooking class?

Nope. I learned to cook from my mom. Lessons started at age 8.

10.What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Tough, sarcastic,caring.

11.Favorite animal?

Man

12.What is your dream job?

Now, it is to be retired. If I could do things all over again, although I loved nursing, I would like to try landscape design.

13.If you could go back in history, to any moment in which you do not live, what would it be and why?

Gee...this is hard. I love where I live now. I can't imagine giving up my dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, computer, Nook color, cell phone, car....Maybe I would go back to my childhood and not know all that I now know.

14.If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I would want to be able to become invisible. There are just times in life when I think this would come in very handy! I am sure you know what I mean!

15. What is your favorite movie?

Man, I have answered this question about a million times since I started this blog. I am just not a big 'watcher of movies'.

16.What is your best childhood memory?

I don't have lots of memories of my childhood...good or bad....but I guess I would pick the day I won the spelling bee when I was in the second grade.

17. What is your favorite part about blogging?

I blog for me! My favorite part is when I write a post, sometimes a light bulb goes off, and I see things a bit more clearly. Or the anger goes away. Or I feel a little prouder. Or I clarify a problem.

18. What is your favorite quote?

I have lots of favorite quotes. I don't think there is just one that I can chose. My new word for the year is hope. So here is one I will pick:

19.What song do you feel like describes your life the best? And why?

I would pick My Way. It is by Frank Sinatra but I like it best sang by Elvis. Here, listen! I like this song because I do feel like, for the most part, I have lived my life My Way, with few regrets.

20.Would you describe yourself as shy or outgoing?

I think I can be both. Depends on the circumstances. People who know me really, really, really well would laugh to hear that I do have a shy side.

  2. I think a "cookie lady" would've been a great occupation.
    That's a great quote!

  3. I'm not a big movie watcher, either, though it seems a bunch of my friends and family members are. Whenever there's movie trivia, I have to default to my sister! And I can totally relate to #17--those are the same reasons I have for blogging as well.

  7. I love love love that Frank Sinatra song. I have a greatest hits album of his that when I am feeling reflective, I will put that CD on...good stuff. I picked invisible too. Our styles match. I am so glad that when I finally get to meet you, I don't have to feel like I need to go buy clothes that aren't me. I am happy that you blog. I love hearing about your life. You have some great stories. I still want to be a cookie lady...

    1. Heck no, don't go buy new clothes. We'll just hang out in our sweats (or shorts if it is summer) and not care that we aren't all hoity toity!
