If you could live in another time, what would it be and why
The only time that I want to live in is the time where I had a WORKING Air conditioner.
Mine quit today. It is currently 81* in my house.
Sunday is to be 102* here.
We are looking for a motel in the morning to check into until Monday.
Now I get to pay for a new A/C! Yipee.

(Don't worry about me if I don't get back on Monday. Please go ahead and post and I will catch up with you.)
So sorry about your air, Paula! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWe are doing good Currently at the motel
DeleteHope you're able to get back in working order without a huge bill and time lapse. We don't use ours a big part of summer, we're lucky to have ceiling fans and some good shade trees, but...we both have noticed we get more uncomfortable then we used to with the heat...must be age.
ReplyDeleteA Time in History
Hopefully by Minday evening
DeleteI am so sorry about your a/c. Ours quit two years ago when the high was 112. We tried to tough it out one night, but it was 92* at 3:00 in the morning. Needless to say, we got a hotel. Good luck. My only advice, get a few quotes and make sure they get a unit that will fit your house. The first person we had contracted wanted to put in a unit that was cheap but way too small for our house so it would have had to work harder to get our house cooler and eventually cost us more money in the long run (replacing the unit quicker and higher electric bill).
ReplyDeleteWe are using the same company we used for our new furnace last winter He is a good friend to my youngest
DeleteThat's good. We also went with a friend of the family. Much more apt to being honest. I hope Richard is adjusting.
DeleteWe are home again. He did not do well. I am glad to have gone with someone we trusted. It is 107* here today
DeleteOh no...It would be horrible to have to go without air conditioning during a summer here in the southeast.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty horrible here in Kansas
DeleteOH MY GAWD THAT SUCKS! I have three units so even though the upstairs one quit working a couple of weeks ago, everyone just stayed downstairs. Was a COMPLETE pain in the butt with a 3 year old who hasn't really slept anywhere but his own quiet, dark room. Made for some long days for him. Poor twerp.
ReplyDeleteI wish my guy could be up where you are. He got us a new unit for $1800. Other people were going to charge us $4000.
We are getting this for around $1000.
DeleteYikes! You've got some terrible heat! I won't whine about being on the second floor of an un-air conditioned old apartment house anymore. I'm sure it's cooler in here than that.
ReplyDeleteYes it is terrible. Today it is 107*
DeleteHoly jeez, and I thought my room as hot, yikes a bee, hope you get things sorted out soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so too!
DeleteBooking into a motel is the way to go. I have never had air conditioning. I hope you guys are doing okay- is it this hot every year or is it an exceptional summer ?
ReplyDeleteWOW, you have never had air-conditioning. I am so spoiled
DeleteWow paula that's hotand uncomfortable. The motel sounds like a good choice. Sorry that I didn't post today. I am commenting from my smartphone. My DSL is out and I'm not sure when it will be fixed. I just left a message with the phone guy so we'll see. Its always something isn't it? But at least my air conditioner works and I don't mean to rub that in because I'd be in the motel too!
ReplyDeleteI have been without my computer for a couple of days too And my tablet just doesn't work the same as a computer
DeletePopped in several times yesterday hoping to see you post. Hope things are ok, think you thought Monday the a.c. would be fixed. Maybe you're still at the hotel? I'll pop back after work tonight to see if you're ok.
