Our journey continues. Today was a good day. He was even strong enough today to stand some and hold onto his walker. The hospice nurse, Janie, came for a short visit. She talked to him about eating as that is something he really doesn't want to do. He told her that he is just not hungry. She said, "if there is anything in the world that we could get for you to eat, what would it be?" You know what his answer was? He wants a hot fudge sundae. I made our Easter dinner today, since the kids were with other family members yesterday. I ground up the ham and added to the scalloped potatoes and he actually ate a few bites. I took the grandson to Scouts and our our way home we stopped at Sonic and I brought home a hot fudge sundae. He did actually eat a few bites.
I'm glad hospice is starting off on a good foot.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is good. This is a journey for sure. Up and then down. And then up again.
