A Simple Woman's Day Book

For Today: September 1, 2012

Outside my window....
Tonight is a brightly lit very dark sky. It is the night of the Blue Moon. Actually, the term "blue moon" is something of a misnomer. There's no reason for the full moon to be any bluer than usual (though it's certainly possible for the moon to take on a blue tinge ). Instead, it has to do with the extra occurrence of a full moon in a given calendar cycle. This Blue Moon made the grand kids and I stop to ponder about Neil Armstrong who died recently and his first steps on the moon so many years ago.

I am thinking....
I am thinking that I did not finish this last night and now there is no longer a Blue Moon. Dang

I am thankful....
As always I am thankful for my family. I am thankful we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies and the bills are up to date. Not a lot of extras but at least we have each other....gag, puke, gag!

In the kitchen....
Well according to the menu plan we were to have Potato Stroganoff for supper tonight but after running all over town today we ended up with the Chicken Sandwiches from Burger King that were buy one/get one for $.01. And they were NASTY! Why do I fall for that deal every time. Do I think one day they will actually taste good?

I am wearing...
Grey crop pants and a hot pink shirt...and my every faithful Crocs.

I am creating....
Well the only thing I think that I am creating lately is havoc. Yep, I love me some havoc. Last night some little girl wanted to argue politics with me on Facebook. I won! She lost! I blocked her. LOL

I am going....
I am going to finish this and go lay on the couch and read the newspaper and take me a little snooze. What do you think?

I am wondering....
I am wondering what it is about Big Brother, the TV show, that I find so fascinating. I would like to be a contestant on that show someday but I bet I would get voted out first thing....

I am reading....
I am reading a book on my Nook and I don't remember the title.

I am hoping....
I am hoping that we continue to do okay as a family. Will be 62 in April and I am looking forward to that. Yippee Social Security here I come.

I am looking forward to....
I am looking forward to getting all of these stickers dug up out of my yard. Because then we can do it again next year. Why do we have to keep doing this? Why don't they just die? We dug up 5 buckets full today and hardly made a dent.

I am learning....
I am learning they have some really interesting things to check out at the library. Today we came home with The Rain Man and oodles of Johnny Cash.

Around the house....
Oh my around the house. Someday I am going to say that we have it all dusted and all vacuumed and we are just sitting back and basking in the glow of a clean house. Someday I will say that!

I am pondering....
I am pondering....Are there really people who have a house that cleaned all at the same time.

A favorite quote for today....

One of my favorite things....
One of my favorite things to do is sleep. Something I never seem to get enough of anymore. I thought that as you got older you would have more time for this. Why was I so wrong?

A few plans for the rest of the week are....
Busy, busy week......Tomorrow I will take the kids to church and come home and make a pasta salad for them to take back with them for the Labor Day Celebration. Then on Monday we are going to mow, dig stickers, and get all the pool stuff put up. Tuesday is Paige's first soccer game. Wednesday the kids have church; one at the church and the other at his youth leaders house. Thursday Justin and Paige are here and Paige has another soccer game. Friday Justin and Paige are here....and here we are again to another Saturday

A peek into my day....

School in Session

School 2012
Hard to believe that summer is already over.
Middle of August and the buses are running.
New school supplies and backpacks are purchased.
Well except for Darian who is still using the same one he has had since 7th grade.
One Aunt Claude found at the new to used store.
A brand new L.L. Bean!
Should last him forever.
Darian is starting into high school. He is a 9th grader.
And Harley has started middle school. She is a 7th grader.
Paige is also in the 7th grade this year.
So hard to believe with a year of new beginnings.
