Saturday Nine

1. What do you have planned for fun in the summertime?
The only fun in the summertime around here is mowing, weeding, relaxing in the pool, gardening and racing kids around to all their activities. I am an old woman and just typing this makes me tired. We did however build a fire in the pit last night and made S'mores. Yum they were good.

2. Who was the last celebrity that you thought was bright until you saw them interviewed?
I haven't really thought any celebrity is bright. And I am not much of a celebrity worshiper.

3. Do you think that the U.S. and our present war(s) seem to just ignore our history?
I am not ever sure I know what this question is asking. But I think most all wars that the U.S. gets involved in are wrong. I am all about just keep our nose over here in our country and taking care of what is wrong with us.

4. Have you ever conformed just to "fit in"?
Hell no. I don't fit it and I will not conform to try to.

5. Do you feel that you at times do not enjoy the moment because you are worried about what will come next?
Yes I do feel that way sometimes. I have a really hard time enjoying the moment. I do worry a lot about the future. I don't know why. Just cause I do. But I worry about the past too. Hell, I just worry too much.

6. Does it seem that when you learn more about yourself, that others' opinions of you seem stupid?
I could care less what other people think of me. Maybe I should worry more. But I don't. They can take me as I am or just keep walking.

7. In rock & roll history, what bands or artists do you think made the biggest impact?
Elvis Presley without a doubt. He changed music forever.
8. Who do you blame for the state of the economy? Why?
I blame Americans! They want everything. Even if they can't afford it they borrow money and buy it. Too many expensive houses were sold to people who couldn't have ever made the payments. And all those credit cards. Buy, buy. buy and don't pay it back. And then whine, whine, whine about the economy.

9. Do you get upset and do you think you're being lazy when you do nothing?
I am lazy! And I am becoming more lazy. And I am tired. And I don't care. What is there to do anymore anyway.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...the sun is shining and it is a beautiful summer day. I love how the puffy white clouds just make the sky look even bluer. There is nothing more beautiful than a summer sky.

I am thinking...why does the things inside the house still need to be done when there is so much to do outside.

I am thankful...that the hubbs is continuing to do OKAY. Not great, just okay. Slower, yes. But okay!

In the kitchen...there has not been much going on. I have this thing that when one member of the family is gone, I can't meal plan. I can't cook. We just grab and run. Darian is in Colorado at Boy Scout Camp.

I am wearing...cut off jeans and a tee shirt.

I am creating...this blog entry at the moment. And today is one of those take each moment as it comes kind of day.

I am going...to do my best to do the laundry today.

I am wondering...why there are days when this is all so hard.

I am reading...a book on my Nook Color and I am too lazy to go see what the title is.

I am hoping...that I can continue to hope. Without hope what do I have.

I am looking forward to...tomorrow. One day at a time.

I am learning something new every day. And when that stops happening then I think it's over.

Around the house...there is dusting and sweeping and carpets to shampoo. Organizing and sorting and putting things away. Washing and shining and fluffing and......................oh heck, let's go outside.

I am pondering...what it is that I should be pondering.....

A favorite quote for today...PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND DEAL WITH IT!

One of my favorite things...Is to read crafting blogs on the internet. I am not really a crafter but I like to see what others do.

A few plans for the rest of the week: more of the same.

A peek into my day...

Thoughts From this week

Well school is over and now I have the 2 grand kids home to deal with. Or make that to run all over town! Harley has already attended a program at the middle school they call Step-Up to help them all feel more comfortable next year as new 7th graders. And then she went on a church SALT trip to Oklahoma City to Frontier City. It was cold and rainy most of the time they were gone. She came home with a scratchy voice due to all the screaming on the upside down rides.
Got Darian off early this morning to Lake George Colorado for a week of Boy Scout camping. He was so excited to go! Then he will be home a week and leaves for Houston, Texas for a youth mission trip. This will be good for him.
Harley and Paige will start baseball practice this week. And I think their first game is on Thursday night.
And the pool is up! Filled with freezing water. Chemical balance is all good! Just need some warm water to heat it up
 Bring on summer!
