My Current Favorites

Can anyone believe it is Halloween 2018? I know I talk about this every month, but the older I get, the faster time seems to fly by.
Anyway I have some new favorites to tell you about.

This is a new cleanser I tried from Grove Collaborative. This is where I get a lot of my cleaning products from. In full disclosure this was a freebie. I haven't decided if it is something I will order again as it is $9.99 and I find that to be a bit much. But it is the coolest thing. It pushes up like a deodorant. It is very hydrating and the coffee is supposed to be energizing. It is a real treat to use. And my skin feels so soft afterwards. It's like a coffee break for your face. Ha! Ha!

I also ordered a KonJac Sponge from Grove to use when cleansing my face. I purchased the charcoal one because it is for sensitive skin. My sponge is black. It comes very hard and you have to soak it in warm water to soften and then use. It has a little thread attached and I hang it on the faucet when I am finished using it. This little sponge is made from the root of a Korean plant and it is great at exfoliation. I use it along with the cleanser above but you can use it alone. I swear the texture of my skin is improving. (and I'm not being paid to say this)

Also, this month, I tried the Hello Fresh.
These were the two meals I received and they were both delicious. If you want to try them you can send me your email and I will be able to offer you a $40.00 off your first delivery. I also have 5 free boxes of Blue Apron to give away. I just need your email address. Let me know. My email is on the side bar.

Honey Glazed Chicken

Grilled Mediterranean Steak

I've also been trying some snacks that are delivered from Graze. The first box was free. I got 4 snacks to try and I liked them. My first monthly box was $13.99 and I got 8 snacks. They are packaged in the perfect size for one person. That is $1.75 a snack. So far the ones I have tried are: 1)Grilled Cheese Crunch which had poppyseed onion sesame sticks, almonds, Gouda puffs, and ranch half popped kernels. 2)Natural Vanilla Seeds which included Vanilla pumpkin seeds and vanilla sunflower seeds. These snacks are calorie controlled and very nutritional. I'll let you know if I continue with this box. This is perfect for a single person who does not want to buy large bags and boxes of snacks that I will eat all by myself. Do you know what I mean??

My new favorites TV shows and Netflix binges are: 1) Dancing with the Stars (of course)
     2) A Million Little Things (oh my gosh another tear jerker)
     3) Shameless (I'm deciding on when to start season two)
     4) This Is Us (not new, but still a favorite)
     5) Survivor

I am also wanting to watching the back episodes of New Amsterdam so that I can start watching it each week. And I am hearing The Making of a Murderer on Netflix is really good. I will have plenty to watch. What are you watching?

Are you all ready for all the spooks and goblins to arrive on your doorsteps tonight? We don't get many in our neighborhood anymore. We are more a neighborhood of older people without kids. But I have a few treats on hand just in case.

Happy Halloween guys!

  1. I'm so cross (at myself) for letting "A Million Little Things" take back-seat to whatever show Tom's watching on another channel. Of late, I've totally fallen out of the habit of sitting and watching anything. Perhaps I'll schedule a marathon after the season concludes.

That Coconut Coffee sounds divine; I may have to gift myself one in the near future.

    1. I missed it last night as I have company! But I will catch up on it On Demand. Let me know if you try the coconut coffee stick.

  2. Happy Halloween. We don't usually get trick or treaters here. They go across the street to the nice neighborhood. (It's not that we're not nice. It's a condo complex, and across the street are pricy houses. Better pickings.)

I'm really enjoying Manifest and God Friended Me. GFM sounded a little obnoxious, but it's a rather sweet Sunday night show.

  3. My husband and I just started watching Making a Murderer season 2 and it's riveting. I'm also watching This Is Us and The Voice. That's about it.. gotta limit myself!
The cleanser you mentioned sounded really interesting! And yes, I agree, the years are flying by! Happy Halloween!

  4. I was wondering about that Making a Murderer on Netflix. I'll have to check it out. I too can't believe its Halloween. We got 40 trick or treaters. Less than last year. Last year I had to send hubby to make an emergency run for candy since we were almost out so of course this year I overbought. Thankfully hubby always keeps a candy dish at work so he'll take our extras for that.

    1. I got 2 trick or treaters, but that is okay. Less getting up and going to the door. LOL!

  6. Hope you had a happy Halloween and are ready for another new month which will fly by faster than ever. At least for me, it will be one of the busiest months of the year. You are much braver than me when trying out new products. I keep to the tried and true for the most part. It works so I don't want to change it. I've never tried andy of those meals that come in a box either. I like to go shopping for what I want and enjoy it. Anyway it is nice to see what others like you use. Now and then it's nice to try out something new. TV watching is good for all these dark rainy days we've been having but I've not found anything really good lately. I've been reading a lot.

    1. November will be quiet for me. I have decided not to have Thanksgiving this year! Too many can't make it on the day and I just don't want to. Maybe I will have a banquet turkey dinner. LOL! I am just not into reading right now. Not sure why.

  7. I love This is Us!! I have tons of friends watching to make a murder and are very into it.
I only got 8 trick or treaters but at least its better than zero like I got the first year we moved into neighborhood. Most of the people said it was all my decorations outside that pulled them to my house. YAY!
I am very intrigued by the coconut cleanse stick. Hmmm I think I want one!

  8. I loved Making a Murderer. The 2nd season is out now and I hope it rains all weekend so I can stay in my jammies and do a marathon.

  9. I haven't started the new season of This Is Us, it's on my DVR along with Million Little Things and The Rookie. I can't seem to get into TV right now.

  10. Oh, I meant to ask you about Hello Fresh/Blue Apron--are they too much food for one person? Does that make sense?

    1. I order the two person, two dinners, plan. There is plenty of food for two people in one dinner. I usually have one for dinner the first night and then the second one either is my lunch or dinner the next day. So nothing goes to waste. Let me know if you want to try it out for free!

  11. I've tried Hello Fresh but didn't like it much. We never have trick or treaters since we live "in the forest" as my son says.

  12. Hope you had a great halloween. We've just started having Hello Fresh thanks to a discount voucher. We've enjoyed it so far too. I'm really excited for Thanksgiving - we'll be spending it in Vermont with our DIL and her family.

  14. I've heard good things about This Is Us. Right now my husband and I are catching up on episodes of Last Man Standing. I need a laugh more than a cry. We also just got rid of our cable since our promo ended and the replacement they gave us didn't have great channels (we didn't want to spend more since we don't watch much TV anyway, and we had a lot of expenses with our HI trip). If we wanted it, Netflix would be cheaper, but we borrow most of our TV series from the library!
