What a Busy Month

May is usually a crazy, busy month for lots of us. And this year has been no different. It's been all about graduations, babies, and moving at our house.

I also spent almost two weeks dog-sitting for a friend who traveled to Greece. We have kept Alli for her before so it was fun to have him again. (Alli stands for Allowishus) He's a good dog and was a pleasure for me to have all through this.

First of all: Harley graduated from high school on May 12, 2018. We had a party at our house following the graduation ceremony. We enjoyed BBQ beef, cornbread casserole, deviled eggs, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans. And of course a special graduation cake. It was fun and delicious.

While relaxing and recovering from having this big party at my house I received a text from Darian that he was on his way to Tennessee for the birth of his baby. Sadly, he didn't get there in time. She was just too impatient. Here she is: Ivory Tyler, born on May 16 (also Paige's 18th birthday) weighing in at 6 pounds 9 ounces and 20 inches long.

And then it was time to get Paige graduated. May 20th. She lives about an hour from us. We traveled to see her graduate and then attended a very nice party at her house following the ceremony. Here she is:

So now you know why I haven't been blogging!  Also, between Harley's graduation and Paige's graduation, Harley moved. It's a big house here for just granny. I'm working on downsizing (it will be a process) and plan to put my house on the market in the future.

I'm downsizing and can't believe all the stuff I've accumulated over the years.

  7. Congrats to Harley and Paige on their graduations! Good that the graduations were a week apart so that all could enjoy the celebrations! Ivory is adorable; congrats on becoming a great grandmother and to Darian and his fiance! I think it is wise to downsize and now figure out what will be the best living arrangements for what you want. It should be interesting to see where you land :)

    1. I don't know what we would have done if the graduations been on the same day. Cried my eyes out! Oh, wait, I did that anyway. It will be interesting to see where I land

  8. Ivory - what a great name! and Ivory is precious in the non-baby world, too. (LOL) Good luck downsizing. My parents retired into a BIGGER place with room for kids and grandkids to visit. I, however, after going up 2 sizes in apartments after Delaware, have steadily shrunk into smaller quarters!

Crazy, crazy month. Usually, my busy moves, etc. take place in March or April, but this May is a big move for us, too. Can't wait for June!

  9. I was exhausted reading it all - what a busy busy time. I think I need a nap! :-)

Downsizing is a big job too. Glad you are taking it one step at a time. It took me me a full 2 years after mom died - to complete the process - just in time to sell our townhouse and move!

  10. Congratulations to the new graduates and the new dad too. May was busy month for you ! It's been crazy wonderful here too. Several birthdays, first communions for grandchildren, anniversaries to celebrate and 3 graduations of grandchildren too. I wish you the best with the downsizing. I do know how hard that is but now 1 year later, I'm settled in to my small place and enjoying it.
