Currently....

Outside my window...

Oh my gosh is it windy today! The sky is clear and a beautiful blue. But the winds....
We are having wind gusts up in the 50 mph range. I have had two bird feeders blow down. And a stray black basket blew into my backyard. I chased it down and will find its owner when the winds die down. It is kind of scary because it was just a year ago we had wild fires all around us. So I hope people are really paying attention to burning, welding, cigarettes, and etc.

Pondering..

I could go on and on with my ponderings this week. Will we ever see an end to stupidity in the White House?? I think I will just leave it there for now.

Watching...

I've been watching The Voice. I have not quite figured out what it is all about but I am learning. And I downloaded the iPhone app so I can play along. (Like I need another time-waster on my phone). I love Blake Shelton. I'm all about his team. What's up with Kelly Clarkson? I'm not a fan. She seems a bit on the fan-ish side to me. Anyway, are any of you fans of The Voice.

Reading...

I'm still reading Into The Water. I am listening to The Short Drop by Matthew Fitzsimmons. I mostly listen to Audible at night when I am going to sleep. I have learned to set my sleep timer for 30 minutes and then it will automatically shut off. This way I don't have far to look to find where I last listened. Works for me!!

Creating...

I'm working on my mantle for spring and Easter. Easter will be here before we know it. Can you believe how fast this year is already zooming by?

Learning...

I have signed up to get some vitamins in the mail. I'll tell you more about it later (after I have been taking them for a bit) So I have been studying a bit about different herbs, plants, and vitamins. You go to the site and tell them about yourself and they pick what vitamins and herbs they think you need. You can check it out here. I had a coupon code for 50% off or I probably wouldn't have tried it out. Do you take vitamins or any kinds of herbs?

Planning....

Harley and I might be going on a road trip for Spring Break. We haven't decided yet. She is just a couple of months away from high school graduation. I might be taking a road trip in early summer with my cousin too. Things are in the planning stages at this point. I think it will be fun.

A quote to share...

What's on my camera...

I cannot believe I have nothing to share from my camera. I need to take some pictures!

A Final thought...

I am thinking about getting a dog. Don't know yet what kind I will get. I want a little bit of a bigger dog. One that I can walk on a leash. One that won't potty in my house. A girl, I think. Not crazy about those boys and the leg heisting. One that doesn't shed tons. I'm just in the thinking stages. I'll soon be going through the empty nest syndrome again. So maybe it is a dog I need! Thoughts??

That is Paige with her dog and the others are pictures from Real Simple.
I would love to have a dog like those
But they are $700 each
Yikes!!

  1. We got horrible winds all night last Thursday night and then all day Friday and Friday night - just huge gust after gust - always freaks me out. We were lucky tho - we lost power 4 times - but only for a minute or so each!

I've had to stop reading most of the front page section of my newspaper! My blood pressure cannot take it anymore...

I would love to get another dog - it has been over 7 years since we've had one. I've had two small poodles and a beagle. I loved my poodles - they are so smart....

    1. Finally our winds died down here. Was crazy yesterday. My mom used to have poodles. So sweet and very protective of her.

  4. Yes, Tom and I LOVE the Voice. That said, I've not watched at all this year ... but I think it's more focused on Real Talent v. a popularity contest. I'm so excited you're REALLY ACTUALLY considering a dog!!! We can have a cyber puppy shower! I love that ours (malti-poo) are non-shedding, but they're pretty small. If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd go for a rescue.

    1. I am in the 'just considering' phase. I have been looking at the Animal Shelter. Just can't decide if I am ready to commit.

  5. Winds make me nervous, too.

I'm more of a cat person, but if a dog is your thing, why not? Just make sure to get one from a shelter.

  6. I am kinda watching the voice. I do like Kelly I think she just is a real; gal and say it like it is.
I have had male and female dogs. Chance does not lift his leg often most of the time he squats. I guess I love them equally...I had two very loyal boys and three girls that were so wonderful...and now we have Chance. You will know when it is the right time and pup...A rescue would be great! A Golden Retriever or an Irish Setter maybe:)

  7. I love dogs. I got mine at a shelter. She was a puppy mill dog. I said the same thing you did, I wanted a bigger dog I could walk around the neighborhood. I ended up getting a 10 lb. Japanese Chin. I ♥ her so much!

  8. It is snowing here again and I am thoroughly sick of it. I just told a friend yesterday that I have visions of them carrying your president out of the WH in a straitjacket. A nutcase for sure and I fear for my country.

  9. Getting a dog is a great idea. They are wonderful companions. Might I suggest an adult dog instead of a puppy. There are so many adult dogs looking for a good home. Generally they are already poddy trained. They are passed that chew on anything stage and it is just the right thing to do. It takes a bit more time to find the right adult dog - one that has the temperament that you want - but well worth the effort. Since they are fully formed, you know what you are getting.

    Anyway my thoughts.

The White House is totally a mess - surprises me that we have survived a year of this. Surprises me MORE that his supports STILL stand behind him. That fact makes me sad and angry.

    1. Definitely an adult dog. No potty training here!! I don't understand how anyone can support this nutcase of a President. Even if he did something good his poor mouth would obliterate it immediately.

  10. Nice to have some road trips in your future. One thing about having a dog, traveling isn't so easy. They are great companions, but also work. I think they are like our children in so many ways. I no longer have one, but am thankful for the ones I did have. Easter will be early this year and I too have been working on decorating with a little bit of St. Patricks Day thrown in for good measure! I do take a daily multivitamin just to supplement my diet. Nothing fancy but includes the daily requirements.
Will be interested to hear about yours. Hopefully March will be a good month for you and you get plenty of good times to take pictures of.

  11. I would love to have a dog but my cat's won't let me! I do miss having one though and maybe when the cats are gone who knows? There are so many dogs that need homes it would be hard to choose!
