#FridayFive-My first one

While visiting my friend Susan today at Color Me Writing I found that she has joined the Practice Gratitude #FridayFive on this blog. I'm new to this but I think it is a great idea because:

"Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so here’s my #FridayFive which are the five things that I am grateful for this week. Join in! What are you grateful for?"

1. I'm grateful for finding this way to share my reasons to be grateful. I have much to be grateful for but it is easy to forget unless we make a habit of telling others and developing that positive attitude.

2. I am grateful to be able to read and have such a wonderful access to some great books. I started reading A Gift From The Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh I have read this tiny book before but for some reason it resonates more with me today!

3. I'm so happy to have the Clicklist available to me for grocery shopping. I have raved about this before. I will be leaving soon to pick up my groceries which I shopped for, on-line, last night after midnight! Hallelujah.

4. And I will be driving my Mitsubishi Endeavor bought by my son, for me, at Christmas. I am still so grateful for that. And for him! Always for him!!

5. It was good to be able to talk with Darian on the phone for over an hour last Sunday. What a way to start our week. Only four weeks until we get to see him.

Go ahead and tell me what you are grateful for on this beautiful Friday. Or join the #FridayFive.

  1. Cute meme! I have to try Clicklist sometime. What a great time saver for a lot of people, plus the advantages of not having to do the shopping oneself. I'm grateful it is Friday!

  5. Hi Paula,
Gratitude lists are so important and something I need to do more often.
you mentioned your Mitsubishi Endeavor: I drive a Mitsubishi Montero and I love it (although I'm having to put almost $1000 into this week :( -- which is rare because this vehicle has been the best one I've ever had in terms of repairs. The most expensive part of this particular expense is replacing the air conditioner blower and resistor, which is critical in this Texas heat. The other repairs were minor: getting my headlight covers polished, fixing the washer fluid leak and getting two new tires). I've always said that I'll get another Montero when the time comes. Mine is a 2000! but I'm loathe to get into car payments again so I want to keep this baby going as long as possible, until it starts nickel and diming me. Since I haven't been in the market for a new vehicle, I haven't paid attention to any of the newer models. I just went online to check out what the Endeavor looks like: Oh I like it!!! Very good looking! Sounds like you're happy with yours. I also discovered that the Montero is no longer available (last year of production was 2006). I will probably get another Mitsubishi product because mine has been so reliable and has needed very few repairs over these last 16 years. I hope you are just as fortunate with your Endeavor as I have been with the Montero. I'm glad it was in your gratitude list!

    Have a great weekend Paula.

  7. Thanks for the mention, Paula! Loved reading your list; you definitely have much to be grateful for. More than likely we all do if we just take a few minutes to think about it!

  8. Great list! Only 4 weeks already? I know, that's just my perspective ... y'all miss him a LOT, but time's such a thief.

Today I'm most grateful for the high winds that are keeping yesterday's absurd 108-degrees at bay. Nervous, but grateful to have a minor surgical procedure over with this week and get some answers. Grateful, for feeling such anticipation of our vacation mid-month. (Weird, but I get so caught up in planning and imagining before the fact.... almost as good as the trip itself.)

    1. We do miss him. And it will probably be even longer before we see him again after this. 108* whoa doggies! That is hot already.

  9. Wonderful blessings! Reminds me of the old hymn. And it is true how much counting your blessings can change you attitude and make your days happier.

  10. Back in my depressing, jobless December, I started a mindfulness challenge, and part of that was to list 3 things to be grateful for each day. I downloaded an online diary and include 3 gratitude items there each day. Some days it's harder than others.

This week was easy, I couldn't even pick 5. It was our anniversary, we got together with friends, found a new restaurant, both had extra time off from work, coincidentally, and it's nice out. Ha! Guess I just found 5.
