Thanksgiving Week Life List

LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW....

It is dark and cold tonight in Kansas! 38* currently with an expected high of 54* for tomorrow. Yipee!

AS I PONDER....

I am pondering the list of reading for my book club for next year. I haven't read any of the books on the list! I will need to be very dedicated to reading to keep up with them. I did pretty well this year. I opted out for the reading in November. It was Go Set A Watchman. I didn't see many positive reviews on this book so I decided I just didn't want to waste time reading it. Next month's reading is Letters From Father Christmas by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is a short book and I need to get started with it!

WHAT I AM LEARNING...

I'm learning that I will probably never be a patient person. It is just who I am. Love me or leave me! That's it. I have no patience. And I'm too old to change.

WHAT I 'M CREATING...

I'm coloring again. This picture was created all with Gel pens. Some of them are metallic but that doesn't really show up in this picture. Pretty, isn't she?

WHAT I'M READING....

Still reading and listening to the same books from last week. I am slowly making my way to the end!!

WHAT I'M WATCHING...

We will be watching the finals of Dancing With the Stars. I like all the dancer who are left. Hard to pick a favorite. Although I am partial to Val (the pro) I will be happy for whoever wins. Two nights this week!!

WHAT'S ON MY CAMERA...

My new coffee bar setup!

Duck lips

My favorite kind of puppy dogs

Cutting a pomegranate is messy

But oh so good!

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE KITCHEN...

Monday... Leftovers

Tuesday...Chili Dogs and Fries

Wednesday..Soup & Sandwiches

Thursday...Thanksgiving Dinner (menu below)

Friday...Cranky Turkey Sandwiches

Saturday...Leftovers

Sunday...Breakfast for dinner

A QUOTE I WANT TO SHARE...

Happenings in my backyard...

Moles, gofers, and prairie dogs!! Still digging. Still mounding up dirt. Still creating tunnels!

A peek into my week...

A busy week for all of us across America. I am preparing and hosting Thanksgiving Dinner. We will only have the four of us this year. We three + Justin. Paige is going to Salt Lake City with her mom for the entire week. Harley only goes to school on Monday and Tuesday. I don't have Darian's work schedule yet. I will be picking up my groceries on Tuesday (I love, love, love Clicklist). Then cooking and preparing on Wednesday and Thursday. That is all the plans I know of at the moment. What are your plans for Thanksgiving??

A final thought...

  1. Sounds like a good meal! We will be getting together with family for dinner. Enjoy the cooler weather, it is quite cold up here, time for parkas:)

  2. Don't tell Harley. Schools in my area now take the entire Thanksgiving week off. So, no work for me...

    1. Some of the schools in our area are out all week too. But not Harley's school!

  3. Okay, I've got to know...what are Heart Attack Potatoes? I bet they are great with a name like that!

Your butterfly is beautiful! You did a great job coloring it. :)

I'm not seen as a patient person either, usually, though I think I've calmed down quite a bit over the last few years. Definitely never pray for patience...you'll get it through the fire, so to speak. My granny's thought was if people didn't like her the way she was, to heck with them (she used another word, though!).

Paula, are you the hostess for Currently...A Life List, or is there another blog that I can go to for information about it? I'd like to participate, too.

Have a blessed night and a wonderfully Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Google Party Potatoes or Funeral potatoes...they are yummy! I named them heart attack potatoes because of the ingredients. But all good things are not healthy! Right? You may copy my life list. I don't host it but I will come read yours. I just do my own thing every Monday!

    2. Thank you for that search suggestion. It brought me a laugh. One of the search results was "10 Funeral Potatoes Recipes to Die For". Hilarious!
The best tasting things are usually not at all healthy. :)
Thank you! I look forward to participating in your life list. This will be fun. :) Are the headings the same each week?
      Have a blessed day!

    3. For the most part they are the same. Sometimes I delete some and add others. As you get used to the format you will probably change it up yourself. I will be happy to see what you come up with each week!!

  5. We are heading into a holiday period I always find difficult. More so as I get older. I think if I could skip any part of the year it would be from mid-November until January 1. I know. I am a curmudgeon. I have had a lot of sadness during this part of the year and it just doesn't go away. Thankfully this year my daughter-in-law is doing Thanksgiving.

I will say your coffee bar looks inviting. And you coloring is awesome. I have all the supplies for that and I must get back to it. Thanks for the reminder..

    1. I needed to get back to coloring. It calms me! This time of the year is not my favorite either! In fact, if it wasn't for grandkids I would probably skip it entirely!

  6. Please send your 54 degrees this way. It is 27 right now. I too skipped GSAW - too many bad reviews. But, my son bought me the Tolkien book a few years ago and I loved it. Thanks for the mention as I will get it out and reread it this Christmas. Love your coloring!!! Makes me want to buy an book and some gel pens. As for Thanksgiving, I had to go to six different stores yesterday to find everything. That's ridiculous. It was over four hours of shopping. The last stop was for the fresh sage which I would have had in my garden if some animal hadn't eaten all the leaves. Arrggghhh! Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. I'm keeping my 54! LOL! I don't like winter. I hate cold weather. OMG if I hate to shop six stores for one meal we would never eat. I am not into grocery shopping (or any other kind, for that matter) at all. Happy Thanksgiving to you Denise!

  10. I haven't heard of the Tolkien book, I'll have to check it out! I skipped GSAW, too. How can Mockingbird be added to??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wasn't a big fan of Mockingbird myself. And the reviews of GSAW just didn't sound like I could suffer through another book of hers. I'm not really sure what people saw in the book to make it a classic. But that's just me!

  12. Ha I read your meal list and thought ok she thinks it's going to give everyone a heart attack. I didn't link it with the potatoes! I assume however these potatoes are prepared it's not very healthy - although I expect delicious. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    1. Yes, they are delicious but with all the butter and sour cream they are not very healthy but we love them anyway! Happy Thanksgiving to you too! (you can find the recipe by searching for party potatoes and use the recipe that uses frozen hash browns)

  13. "I have no patience."
    I'll vouch for that statement
I'll have to make my Ham & beans this year with a smoked ham shank I guess. Might make some cornbread to go with them,
