We have arrived!
The first day of September.
Soon we will start to feel fall in the air.

  4. Long hikes through the woods with the leaves crunching under my feet and the smell of decay in the air. (I know, I'm weird but I think decaying leaves smell good)

  5. High-school football games ... bundling up in a soft sweater ... and taking deep breaths (as if they were my last!) of the acute high-country pine trees.

    1. I never went to a single football game in high school. I am not a football fan. But I never missed a game that Justin played in when he was in high school and college. Still didn't learn to love the game!!

  6. Favorite memory of fall...? Hmmmm... We don't really have "fall" per se. Eventually it gets cooler. The leaves do change. But to get a real fall, I had to visit family in Oregon in October (a couple times in the '90s. They have since moved back to California).

I guess I would go with the Whittier earthquake of 1987. Good times...

    1. Can't imagine that an earthquake would garner good memories. LOL! I don't thik I would like living where there are not four seasons. I don't like winter that much and wish there was less of it. But I would miss it if I didn't have it.

  8. My favorite memory of fall is the annual two-day conference for educators. As a student, it gave us kids a four-day weekend!

    1. That would be a great memory. I always liked "back-to-school" even as a kid

  9. Moose hunting with my dad, and then later in life, with my first husband. I grew up in Alaska. September is the best month there, by far!

    1. Now that is a memory I haven't heard about! Hunting is not for me but I came from a family that loved to hunt!
