A Bathroom storage Hack

I had to look close to make sure it's all okay to photogragh
When Darian and Harley came to live with us, almost 8 years ago, I needed to find a solution to all the "stuff" they were piling up on the bathroom counter. Their lotions and potions and sprays and combs and brushes and etc. This bathroom has no drawers. Only under sink cabinets and a medicine cabinet. So I found a shoe organizer and put it on the back of the door with Command Hooks (love those things) and Wa-la! All organized and out of sight. Except when you are in the bathroom and have the door closed. But who cares then, right??

What kind of bathroom storage hacks do you use? Want to share?

I'm feeling a bit better today! Summer colds are the worst!!

  1. Great idea!! Hmmm... I really do not think I have any bathroom hacks.... The only one I've thought of - and it was my husband's idea - he needed a shaving mirror in the shower, so he hunk a metal hanger (the kind with the clips for skirts and slacks) and clips his wash cloth there - spread out so it dries - and the he slid the mirror handle (has a hole in it) over the hook part... that's all I got - LOL!

  2. oh Paula, you asked me if I'm or anyone is videotaping any of the get togethers (all the ones I'm missing over the years)... alas no...
I don't know how to do a reply on my blog - except to post a comment on it - and never sure if anyone sees it!

    1. You should start videotaping some of your Facetiming sessions! I don't know how to do that but surely someone (YouTube) could help you. You will cherish those forever!!

  3. I used craft drawers in the under the sink cabinet. Our over the door hack is towel bars, of which there are none in the bathrooms.

  5. That's a great idea, Paula!
I've been known to use the guest bathroom's tub enclosure for fast storage. 'Just pull the shower curtain so no-one can see, and wonder why the hair dryer and curling iron are sitting in the tub.

    1. That would be a great hiding place. Our main bathroom has "just a tub". I should hang a shower curtain and use the tub for storage because no one ever uses it!!

  6. Glad to hear you are feeling better a bit :)

I like this! I might have to do something like that for hubby's bathroom. He has so much stuff on the counter, it gets a little crowded at times. Great idea!

    1. Thanks Betty! I also use one of these inside Harley's closet for things like belts, scarves, and other stuff she doesn't want in a drawer. They are also good for cleaning supplies if you have a place to hang one!

  7. Hack day, eh? Fun! I like the your shoe organizer idea. When Gn moved in with Officer afriendly and me, she wasn't using many products. She was pretty little. We already had an over the door device for hanging our towels. My bathroom hack to share, I guess is a tension rod inside the tub/shower stall. It runs the length of the tub and it's close to the wall, so not in the way. We use it for hanging wet wash cloths, wet umbrellas, wet rain ponchos, wet winter outdoor play clothes when GN was younger, etc. Towels don't get as wet so they can still be on the door hooks, but the wet things drip right jnto the tub, Glad to read that you are feeling better. Good news!

    1. Yep I thought we might need a good hack today!! Darian was almost 11 and Harley almost 9 when they moved in with us. Starting to have a group of products. I love the tension rod idea!!! We mostly use scrubbies but I like that idea to hang them!

    2. I forgot to say that I added plastic clips that hang on the tension rod. Washcloths and scrubbies get clipped like on a clothes line and not flipped over the tension rod.

    3. That would make it work even better!

  9. That is a great idea. In the bathroom I use a basket that fits where the undersink cabinet would be (door's removed). Your solution is perfect.

  12. This is an interesting way to make sure that all the things in your bathroom are properly on display. If your bathroom is anything like mine, you end up forgetting what medicines and toiletries you've chucked into the storage units after a while!

    1. That is true as well Eric! Things get lost in drawers, baskets, and medicine cabinets
