My Adult Christmas List

I stole this idea from my friend Kwizgiver at What if this is as good as it Gets?  When you leave here go over and see what she wants for Christmas.

These are really, really wishes only. I am happy with everything I have and since I am going to wish, I might just wish big!

1. Wood floors throughout my house

2. A car that didn't leak coolant all over the garage floor.

3. A new modem/router for my computer. (I just really need to make a trip to the cable store for this)

4. A Shark Rotator Lift-Away powered vacuum cleaner. (I have two perfectly good vacuums but I want a Shark)

5. A new (bigger) crockpot.

6. Books! Or better yet unlimited downloads to me Nook from Barnes and Nobel. Or maybe even a new Nook. Mine is quite a few years old now. But, I still love it!

7. New countertops in the kitchen.

8. New sliding glass doors in the living room and the bedroom. French doors would be nice.

9. Someone to paint the rooms that I keep putting off.

10. Lindor Truffles....lots and lots of them. Just for me. I'll hide them in my secret place and just have one a day. I promise.

That's enough wishing. What would be something you would put on your adult Christmas list?? Share with me, please.

  1. Hi Paula - they all sound eminently sensible and some definitely attainable by or at Christmas ... good luck! Me - I'd love more time ... definitely more time ... cheers Hilary

  2. "I wish I had a million dollars. Hot dog!" This time of year I like to quote George Bailey from It's a Wonderful Life. But your #2 ring$ a bell with me!

  3. I love those truffles; I'm not sure I could stop at one though :) I think your list is really a good one; a lot of practical items on them; not a lot of frivolous ones. We used to always have carpet or the majority of the house was carpet; when hubby had the house remodeled in San Diego before it sold, he went with tile all over; it is such a cleaner look I think than carpet. We are looking for houses here and I'm more drawn towards tile or wood floors. Easier to take care of I think (of course right now we don't have a dog so I could get away with only vacuuming one time a week and it still looked "fresh" by the next week).

I'm going to do a Christmas wish post right before Christmas with what I want for Christmas :)

    1. I'm positive I couldn't stop at one. But I always try!! I have heard of houses with all tile. I think it would be amazing. This house has carpet all over. And old carpet at that. So nice new floors would make me feel like I had gone to heaven!!

  4. Me, too. All my wood floors need refinished after 30 years, so it's all the same thing.

  5. Fun list! You should put more pampering things on it!

  6. A copy of The Christmas List. It's a TV movie from 1999 or 1998. Maybe you saw it. Where the main character makes a list much like yours. In a moment of frivolity, the list ends up in a department store Santa's mailbox. Then one by one, she starts to get everything on the list. Just not in the way she expects. (Like, she wishes for a new job...so she gets demoted.)

    1. I haven't heard of the TV movie but I can see where one must be specific for what they wish for!! LOL!

  7. Oh, I'm going to wish big, too...a professional person to replace the roof on our cabin in the Yukon, restore the original log walls and install a propane stove so that we can come and go in the winter without having to worry about the wood stove going out. And a sun room in my real house. :)

  8. Last year I got the new Samsung Nook color. I rarely read books on it though. But I do read samples of books on it. Just prefer book books in my hands whilst reading away. The Amazon HD Kindle Fire (think that is it) is on sale right now for $50.00!!
Hmmmm on my adult wishlist - new floor in my kitchen for one! And a new car in the driveway wouldn't make me unhappy - LOL!

    1. I love my Nook Color. I love Barnes and Noble. Problem with the Kindle Fire is I'd have to buy books at Amazon. I'll wish for a new floor and car for you too!!

  9. Say, I like the combination of practical and whimsical!
I've got it on good authority the Shark is awesome.... then again, I seriously hate to vacuum, so I'd probably be most UNgrateful.

May all your wishes come true!

    1. Do you own a Shark Myra? I don't mind vacuuming! And if I don't want to do it I still have Darian and Harley :)

  10. That's a very reasonable and sensible Christmas Wish list....I would have wished for unlimited travel expenses for the rest of my life.
