Friday Letters

Friday Letters

Dear Pope Francis:

I have very much enjoyed your visit to the USA. I am not a Catholic! But I am a Christian too! You are so kind, so full of humility, so tender, and so friendly. I love your message "Who am I to judge?" You ask us to pray for you in your beautiful messages. I will do just that. Enjoy the remainder of your visit here.

Dear Mother Nature:

This is your time, isn't it? You bring so much beauty to our surroundings at this time of the year. Not to mention the cooler weather. Which I am going to love soon. The nights are getting a bit nippier. And soon we will see the temperatures dipping in the daytime too. Thank you Mother for all the beauty we will soon observe around us.

Dear Fall Premiers:

So happy to have new TV shows to watch. We are fully immersed in Dancing With The Stars. Harley is loving Gary Busey. I am enjoying Paula Deen. We haven't yet chosen a favorite. We watched Gibbs be saved by John Cryer (Alan, from Two and a Half Men) and wondered if he was in good hands. He was! We have   watched Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away with Murder. All off to a great start. I am looking forward to seeing what Alicia will be up to in The Good Wife. And I will be sitting in my comfy chair this Sunday to watch the two-hour final episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. I am looking forward to seeing Grissom and Catherine return to wind up this fascinating 15 year series.

We watch a lot of TV at our house!! What has your week been like? Do you have plans for the weekend? See you all on Monday!!

  1. I love this Popes visit too! We needed a good refreshing. The not judging is perfection for today! As far as the TV, I tried to watch Bastard Executioner because I really like Kurt Sutter. Its hard to watch as was SOA. SOA turned out to be a favorite of mine and I think will too, however, I am not so sure I can take it. Lots of blood and gore and reality for the past. I give 3 times on new shows. Tuesday will be its third.... news at 11.

    1. Katy, my husband and I said the EXACT same thing. If next week doesn't keep us engaged, we're out! Lots of craziness and sometimes just for the heck of it.

    2. I haven't watched SOA but my brother was a fan. Maybe I should check it out. I haven't watched Bastard Executioner either. Have a good weekend. Holli! Good to see you back!!

  2. My sister lives in Washington DC area; she got tickets to go to one of the Pope's events (a Mass I think, she along with 25,000 people, LOL) but she did enjoy it. He is a down to earth pope, I think that is a good thing! Hubby watches a lot of TV, I think he's looking forward to the new season starting for some of his favorites :)

    Have a great weekend!

    1. TV is something to pass the time. And keep my mind occupied! I am not a knitter or a crocheter (is that a word?) I read while I watch though!.

  3. I am disappointed in the three Roman Catholic Justices of the Supreme Court for being absent when the Pope addressed Congress. I may have to write three letters . . . I am keeping an eye out for Mother Nature's beautiful autumn show of colors. I don't watch much TV and I don't have cable. When football season starts, I watch what I can when I am able, but without springing for cable. I'm not against it, I just don't have it.

    1. I didn't know that Gram! We should all write them letters. What fools! We have cable, although I have threatened to cancel it more than once. Mostly what I watch is on CBS and ABC, and some NBC!

  4. This makes me wish I'd paid more attention to Pope Francis' message. Not being a member of the Roman Catholic clergy, I just don't 'get' all the accolades. Then again, his press coverage sure beats a Freddy whats-his-name or Kim Davis!

I've fallen so far from watching TV regularly :(. I can't believe Grey's Anatomy is still being filmed! I may have to see if any of my favorites (actually just one, Bailey) are still around!

    1. I don't really understand all the accolades either but I am glad to see him receive such a wonderful reception in USA. It is refreshing to see for a change. Yes Grey's Anatomy is still on. It's a favorite of Paige and Harley's. Yes, Bailey is still around. And still hilarious!!

  5. I'm so happy the new TV season has started. I watch way too much TV, too. I'll be happy if it ever decides to cool off (we were in the 90s today).

  9. Hey Paula. Great letters. You and I have the same taste in television! I was thrilled with Scandal. It's going to be quite the ride this season. How to Get Away With Murder is another good one. Viola Davis definitely deserved that Emmy win. Are you planning on watching Blood and Oil? That looks like it's going to be good.
    Have a great weekend!

  10. I'm not Catholic either, but I totally love this Pope! I live about 25 miles from D.C. I think I could hear the cheers from there to my house! I was glued to the tv for the past 4 days - watching all of the "doings". I cried many times!!
I too am enjoying the new tv season!!

  11. I totally agree about the Pope's visit. I turn on the tv and get sucked in by his clear faith and goodness. We haven't really started watching the fall shows yet...I've discovered Rehab Addict on demand...I'm a Rehab Addict Addict!!! Even my kids sit down and watch with me - so it's a win-win at our house! And sadly - we don't really get fall here in north Texas...sigh... it is something I truly miss. Thankfully - everyone is posting pictures, so I am living vicariously through my midwestern friends!
