Throwback Thursday

We were on vacation, visiting my best friend Nanne and her husband Gary, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was 2002. We loved to go wherever she was working as a travel nurse and visit them. This time we went to a restaurant downtown where you picked out your steaks from a butcher-shop like unit and took them to a grill and cooked them yourself. We had a really fun time on this trip. Lots of snow but not all that cold as you can tell from us just being in jackets.
And look at the red in my hair! And no grey! LOL

  1. How fun to cook the steaks like that! I always thought (assuming of course I was a nurse) that it could be interesting to work as a travel nurse and get to see some parts of the country. Great picture of the two of you!

    1. I thought it was. My friends husband was really put out. We didn't know it was a 'cook your own' place when we went in. He said he could have gone home and cooked his own steak a lot cheaper. If I hadn't of had kids when I graduated nursing school, I would have loved to try travel nursing. Now I am just too old to want to go to strange places alone. (and I still have kids)

    1. Nope. My natural color was just plain old brunette.

  5. I had a neighbor who traveled half the year on a cruise ship as a nurse. She had the most amazing stories! I used to dream of being a traveling teacher. I don't know if I could do it, though.

    1. Richard always wanted me to do cruise ship nursing. Would have worked but then we had grandkids who came and you can't live on a cruise ship with kids!

  6. It looks like whoever took this picture captured you mid-laugh, and Richard going, 'come on, already!' Great photo, Paula!
