What to Do? What to Do?

Help!! It is freezing cold. My furnace keeps kicking on. I hear the money adding up! And I can't get out from under the blankets. I have my hands wrapped around a hot cup of coffee with French Vanilla Cream; my nook is open to a brand new book: The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and a goal to clean and declutter my kitchen for this weeks challenge has not yet been started; a few ornaments have been removed from the tree and the mantel and I have no ambition!

Which would you chose? What will I do?

  1. I would opt for staying warm, Paula. Hopefully a warming trend is behind the freezing cold, which is what happened here. It was cold for 3-4 days and now today it is unseasonably warm in the 60's. It is hard for me to be motivated to do anything if I am cold unless it is something I have to do like work. Otherwise, I'm like you. I like to curl up with blankets and I too drink something warm to keep my hands warm.

I'm thinking you'll stay put under warm blankets?

    1. I made a pot of chicken and rice soup. I took a few more ornaments off the tree and I read and enjoyed my coffee!!

  2. You sound comfy. Stay where you are. I’d be interested to know how you like The Goldfinch.

    1. I'm onlyl into the first few pages. Not yet "grabbing me". I like for books to "grab me"

  3. I would probably read and relax.

  4. Enjoy the book and coffee. When you get the urge to move, put a batch of cookies or loaf of bread or a casserole in the oven and enjoy the heat from that as you start your kitchen organization. I am anxious to see what you think of the book. It is on my tbr list

    1. The kitchen organization took a backseat. I will try to start it again tomorrow. Just don't have any energy to get started.

  5. My advice? ... is just to sit back and savor another cup of coffee. And nap!

I know what you mean about keeping your hands warm -- even if the rest of me is freezing, it feels awesome to wrap my hands around a steaming mug of something or another.

PS - When I got in my car this afternoon, the read-out showed the temp was 86-degrees. Icicles are some of my very favorite things, so I really enjoyed seeing this photo!

  6. Hi Paula .. retire under the blankets and sleep it away - not practical ... but admire nature's wonder ... not particularly helpful either .. still all will work its way out - all the best - Hilary
