Menu Plan Monday and Life

Another Monday is upon me. I will always think of Monday's now as the day that he died. Never did like Monday. Today marks 5 weeks. And life just keeps marching on. The kids have started debate practices twice a week. We have dentist appointments twice this week. Scouts starts again tonight. And the church youth group is having a back to school paint party on Wednesday. Our last week before school starts. And, for the first time in I don't know how many months and months, my youngest son didn't come to visit. He is sick with pneumonia and a mysterious back pain. All prayers for him are welcome. Now onto the Monday Menu Plan. It has lots of last week's menu because I just didn't feel like cooking.

    1. It really helps me with budgeting and anxiety issues at meal time. You should get back to it!

  3. Sorry to hear about your son, Paula, will say a prayer for him; I hope he feels better soon! It is hard to come up with new things all the time to try to figure out what to cook, especially grieving like you are doing, but your menu looks good.

  4. Prayers for Justin. I hope he is better soon. I actually planned my meals for this week - just dinners, but it's a start. I am hoping to stick to it...my goal is to not have to go back to the grocery store more than once this week...and that's just for the fixin's for a dessert I want to make tomorrow (but don't have enough room in my freezer to put everything - so I have to buy it, make it and eat it all in the same day!!!) Wish me luck...btw - what is Hake?

    1. Hake is fish! Once upon a time it was known as "trash" fish because no one wanted to eat it. I haven't ever fixed it. But I got it from Schwann's this summer so we are going to try it out on the grill, so it won't stink up the house. I love fish but I hate the smell in the house. Thanks for the prayers for Justin!

    2. Were your ears burning tonight? I was cussing you a bit...I planned, therefore I had to cook...I'm so glad I did, but man I wanted to pop a pizza in the over!!! I made the fake-out Chick-fil-A nuggets and they were to die for...did I mention I wanted to pop a pizza in the oven, but my friend Paula convinced me to menu plan...??? :-) Love you!

  5. Adding my prayers for Justin's speedy recovery!
I didn't realize they still offered 'debate' in the public school system. Two of my best pals in h.s. were passionate about it and one went to State. Funny, nowadays we're all FB friends and those two -- one very liberal, the other very right-wing, are forever debating one another on social media.
At any rate, they're each very poised and well-spoken, and I think h.s. debate had lots to do with that.
