I am so embarrassed!

July 18

Show us a picture of something you own that is embarrassing!

This clock!
I have never liked this clock.
And it hangs in our 'puzzle room'
On this wall that is covered in the ugliest wallpaper ever.
I am embarrassed to say that this wallpaper was in this room when we bought this house.
And this clock belongs to my husband.
And now I have to keep it wound so that it will continue to chime the hour for him.
Now tell me that is not love!

    1. Called the puzzle room because my husband was a jig saw puzzle fanatic and this was the room where he put his puzzles together. So we always referred to it as the puzzle room. I need to rename it

  2. What's fun about this prompt is what we all consider embarrassing to own.

    1. I agree Allison...I can't wait to get out and see what everything finds embarrassing

  3. This makes me feel a bit bad for my husband, I have so many sentimental knick-knacks around the house that he probably thinks are hideous or strange.

Do you do a lot of puzzles?

  5. I don't know that I have anything embarrassing in the house. Weird and unusual things, yes. :) Oh, wait - I have dust. A lot of dust. I guess that counts as embarrassing. :)

  6. Thats love to keep something that long you don't like. We moved into the house years ago and it had ugly green sculpture type carpet, we wanted to get rid of it, right away....15 some year later, we did. Funny how you can have stuff that long and just put up with it. A puzzle room...most interesting.

    1. Oh believe me it is not LOVE. I think it might border more on laziness, lack of funds, not enough time....but not LOVE!

  8. I almost showed my clutter, then I reread the prompt and it says something that you OWN. Phew, dodged that bullet, I actually did take a picture of my clutter. I wish I had a puzzle room. One of the very first things we did in our house was remove all the wallpaper. I will never ever put wallpaper in a house.

  9. I don't see anything wrong with the clock. Also, if you didn't tell us your wallpaper is 25 years old, we wouldn't know. I've seen some ugly wallpaper, and it didn't look like yours.

    1. The clock is just really not my style. And if you could see that wall paper in person you would see what I mean. It is gold grass cloth. What is embarrassing is that I have lived in this house 25 years and have hated that wallpaper since day one....

  10. I actually liked that clock... there's something antique about that... and of course, I would also suggest a bit change in the wallpaper ... then it could do wonders to the clock.

P.S.I know I haven'r been here for ages now... hope you are doing good! :)

  11. I have that same clock in my dining room. It belonged to my grandparents. I actually like mine because it reminds me of them, although truth be told the ticking can drive you to distraction! Perhaps that's why it hasn't been wound in some time.
