R is for Reno....

Reno, Nevada

My first time to Reno, Nevada was all the way back to about 1978, I think. I was still married to my ex and we had been on vacation in California and was making our way home. We went to Las Vegas to visit family before we headed to the mountains in Colorado.

Reno, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World" sits in the dessert and let me tell you it is HOT! The day that we arrived it was 118* And they tell me that is a cool day in Reno.

  3. We spent a year living in Carson City (about 45 min from Reno). I disliked NV intensely--brown, ugly, and hot. Did have some fun times going to the casinos in Reno, though--I remember having a wonderful meal at the Eldorado.

  4. I used to live in Phoenix, I don't think it got that hot there but did get hot enough to burn your hands getting in the car. Although, it is true that a dry heat does not feel as bad, because the temperature isn't as high here in Florida but it is humid, and I am much more uncomfortable here.

  5. I've been to Reno, but was only a teenager so I didn't really get to experience it. I would imagine it has changed a bit in the last 20 years too.
